Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Manufacturing Trainer and Knowledge Transfer Specialist at the Penbryn, NJ plant.
The Manufacturing Trainer and Knowledge Transfer Specialist will lead our efforts to deliver key technical information and training to production operators in our manufacturing process. The purpose will be to teach new and experienced operators the full spectrum of their job requirements. Ideal candidate will have technical knowledge, data gathering skills and ability to organize and present gathered information to others. This positon reports to the plant Production Superintendent.The Penbryn plant produces fiber glass building insulation products and will be adding 150 people in production, maintenance, shipping and technical positions.
The plant is ideally situated in South Jersey, close to Philadelphia, and offers full-time employment with competitive pay and benefits.

Extract technical knowledge, skills and capabilities from subject matter experts
Create technical training content/materials including but not limited to on-the-job training aides, classroom courses, and knowledge transfer documents based on prioritized operational needs.
Strategic business partner with operations to develop, implement and execute all knowledge transfer strategies related to organizational changes.
Create and/or refine standard operating procedures/work instructions.
Work collaboratively with SME's to ensure all training materials are accurate.
Facilitate technical training and development activities with a target audience.
Evaluation and continuous improvement of technical operations learning solutions, program effectiveness, and knowledge transfer processes.
Develop and implement tools to identify and plan functional/job training.
Work with the plant manufacturing team to create a sustainable technical training strategy.
Develop visual content for core manufacturing processes and maintenance procedures.
Expand training capacity through \train-the-trainer\ and other in-house solutions.
Explore and recommend use of software to assist with technical training and knowledge transfer.


Certification as a technical trainer with related responsibilities for five plus years
2 years of technical writing experience related to manufacturing environment
Ability to translate complex technical information into easily understood training content
Coaching in a one on one environment
Excellent communication, and organizational skills
Exceptional writing and editing skills
Attention to detail
Ability to synthesize and prioritize data/knowledge
Program development
Proven ability to extract information from incumbents (data collection through interviews)
Ability to work collaboratively with employees of all levels (Operations Managers; Engineers, Maintenance, Operators)
Strong computer skills -- Microsoft Suite
Experience with knowledge transfer software
Project management expertise
SAP experience-specific to MRO/planning processes
