Essential Functions:Produces products to documented specifications and procedures. Reviews and maintains documentation to support production.Identify and implement cost savings and method improvements.Ensures designated department equipment is calibrated in accordance with written procedures.Works with Quality Assurance department to determine root causes of non-conforming products and appropriate corrective action.Supervises department personnel, coordinates work assignments based on production schedules and material available, maintains safe and secure working environment, evaluates individual and team performance and addresses morale/performance concerns.Develops methods to ensure and track financial performance of the department, operates within budgetary guidelines, maximizes efficiency of machines and personnel, manages inventory of raw materials and work-in-process.Maintains manufacturing specifications and process documentation and ensures compliance with CGMP regulations, ISO, FDA, OSHA safety regulations and company human resources policies.Reports production and personnel status to the production superintendent. Provides personnel guidance consistent with company human resources policies.Interacts with management staff regarding introduction of new manufacturing processes/products.Coordinates professional development and skills training of department personnel.Responsible to observe department's safety regulations and to use personal protective equipment as required.Responsible to practice department's good manufacturing and housekeeping procedures and complete cleaning verification checklists as required.Reports any unusual circumstances to immediate supervisor and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
