Key Responsibilities

 

The Mojave manufacturing plant is an Aerospace C&S (Coatings and Sealants) manufacturing facility - the primary Aerospace C&S manufacturing facility globally. The operation includes the batching of raw materials, which are mixed and fed into reactors and various other process equipment.  The material is then tested, qualified, packaged, and then shipped domestically and globally.

Manages the production, packaging, distribution, and manufacturing support functions and associated staff in order to meet the production and financial goals of the operation. Develops, establishes, and implements profitable standard operating and safety procedures.  Work/Lead Operational Excellence Projects to improve process lead time and inventories. Manages, acquires, coaches and develops employees into effective functional teams. Conceives and develops solutions to complex production operations and operations management problems using professionally accepted techniques.  Effectively manages the manufacturing/scheduling processes and procedures to ensure on-time delivery to the customer. Participates in the development of operational and capital improvement budgets and manages operations within approved budgets. Complies with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and procedures at all times.

Experience and Education

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent credential. Must have at least 5 years of manufacturing operations experience with supervisory/management responsibility. Must possess the ability to manage and/or coordinate the production function and to develop good working relationships that are essential to providing the level of service necessary to meet customer expectations and achieve business growth.

Functional and Technical Skills

Must be able to accurately perform and interpret complex production scheduling and mathematical operations required of an operations management level position. Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.  Must be able to wear required PPE with or without reasonable accommodation.  Operations Lean/Sigma certified is highly desired.
