Manufacturing Engineering Manager','17000CBM','!*!As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will coordinate the development and implementation of systems starting with the manufacturability of Engines and Generators at the concept / design stage through the various assembly process to the shipment of the product. This includes developing facility location strategies, make vs. buy decisions, facility design, assembly and machining process design, developing and implementing manufacturing systems, industrial engineering, and implementing lean manufacturing concepts.. 

Reporting to the incumbent are various levels of manufacturing engineering supervisors, technical staff positions, and project engineers. You will work directly with the Operations Manager & Division Manufacturing Engineering Manager providing manufacturing expertise in: manufacturing/machining, assembly, materials & logistics, planning support, project management methodology/processes/tools.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Develop Manufacturing Engineering talent pipeline and training program for divisionWork with manufacturing managers and facility managers to provide effective assembly and machining equipment & processesWork with cross functional and divisional team to align with strategic initiativesAssist with the development of a 5 and 10 year manufacturing strategyMaintain the capital expenditure activity, which includes the proper accounting and tax implicationsDevelop tooling and NC Programming for all current and new componentsDevelop all programming for new machines, processes and productsCoordinate the programming/tooling aspects for NPI (New Product Introduction) projectsResearch, develop & Implement new technologies to manufacture or assemble productsImplement new technologies and lean processes for continual improvements in the  various business processesImplement new technologies and lean processes for continual improvements in the  various value streamsDevelop (CPPD) methodology and provide the required support resourcesSupport corporate initiatives such as 6 Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, certification, etcComplete the installation of all machinery and equipment related to facility transformation and be accountable for all machinery moves and facility rearrangementProvide performance management, direction, focus, motivation, and encouragement for team and facilities','!*!Basic Qualifications:10 to 15 years of progressively responsible job-related experience Top Candidates Will Also Have:Good communication and collaboration skillsEngineering or manufacturing backgroundExperience with both Machining and Assembly ProcessesKnowledge of shop operations and maintenance proceduresCollege or university degree (Technical Field Preferred)Excellent interpersonal skills Caterpillar is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status; however, as a global company, Caterpillar offers many job opportunities outside of the U.S. which can be found through our employment website at www.caterpillar.com/careers (http://www.caterpillar.com/careers).','Relocation assistance is available for this position.','EEO/AA Employer.
