Manager Strategic Sourcing

Position Summary

The Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Delivery & Execution is responsible for planning and executing complex competitive Sourcing events across various categories of external third party spend including Professional Services, Real Estate, Supply Chain, IT, and Marketing.

The Manager, Strategic Sourcing should be able to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously and should possess exceptional analytical, project management, and negotiating skills. The Manager works across different functions and categories and may manage other Crewmembers.

Essential Responsibilities

Develop intimate understanding of stakeholders’ commercial challenges and business objectives

Collaborate with stakeholders and Category Managers to plan competitive Sourcing events (RFX’s)

Lead, execute and act as a mentor to others on complex RFX’s including needs assessment, information gathering, stakeholder discussions, drafting of RFX’s, business partner research negotiations, analysis, and presentation of recommendation/results

Establish measurement of success for individual projects including baseline definition and gain agreement and formal sign-off from cross-functional partners

Challenge scope of requirements and specification design to ensure robust scope of project

Gain stakeholder engagement and successfully influence throughout project lifecycle

Identify monitor, and manage / report project risks

Employ effective Business Partner management throughout the project lifecycle

Devise negotiation plans and manage negotiation process with Stakeholders and Business Partners

QC outputs of Crewmembers who may be supporting projects

Lead negotiations on commercial and business contract terms and conditions with Business Partners

Collaborate closely with the Legal team on contract execution

Confirm outcomes achieved and gain formal sign off from stakeholders

Lead contributions to development of best practice Sourcing tools

Manage/coordinate delivery of multiple projects/ work streams to deliver benefits within tightly defined deadlines

Serve as Crewleader to junior Crewmembers while developing their critical Sourcing execution skills

Identify work for delegation and provide appropriate support and expertise to ensure work is delivered to a high standard

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, General Business, or related area

Five (5) years of supply management, sourcing or equivalent experience where the candidate led a major change project delivering exceptional commercial results

Demonstrable ability to converse with leadership on their key business issues

Be able to provide a range of potential solutions to complex problems a stakeholder may be facing

Outstanding presentation and communication skills necessary to convince stakeholders to follow a recommended strategy

Commercially astute with the ability to identify points of leverage and incorporate them into a negotiation strategy

Strong numeric, analytical, verbal and reasoning skills with the ability to develop creative solutions to solve problems

Understanding of strategic sourcing processes including spend analysis, sourcing strategy development, competitive event planning and execution, and negotiation

Experience executing sourcing projects which contribute to a major reduction in cost and/or improvements in efficiency

Experience delivering high quality work and excellent results in a timely manner, across multiple initiatives

Experience in managing relationships with stakeholders in a high-paced project environment

Strong team collaboration skills

Proven category expertise in one or more of the following areas: Professional Services, Property, Supply Chain, IT, and Marketing

Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

MBA

Previous experience in a consulting firm or in an “internal consulting” role within industry

Three (3) years of leadership experience

Crewmember Expectations:

Regular attendance and punctuality

Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))

Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls

Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
