Summary: Supports the Senior Manager, Shopper Insights as a strategic contributor and primary partner for custom and/or integrated shopper and category insights. Leads primary shopper research projects and leverages a wide range of secondary data sources to integrate into the Tyson Leadership Platforms. Platforms are customer-oriented and include Total Frozen Food, Refrigerated Meat, Fresh Meats, and Deli departments as well as individual categories where our company competes and/or is innovating. Fully support integration of the Leadership Platforms into the broader organization by being the voice of the shopper and category. Work collaboratively with category management, shopper marketing and customer teams to deliver customized insights to the customer that result in category strategies that drive growth for both our customer’s categories and Tyson products. Partner with business units and innovation team to ensure that shopper and category insights are leveraged as a solid foundation by which the business units plan their strategies and tactics to deliver superior results.Responsibilities: Analyze data and translate findings into meaningful insights; keeping the category and shoppers always in mind and how they fit with our company brand goals. Use syndicated and household panel data, primary and secondary research, and other data sources to uncover insights and refresh Leadership Platforms. Create and disseminate Leadership Platforms across internal Tyson business partners to influence innovation and other areas of the business. Leverage shopper insights through the Leadership Platforms to cultivate and influence our relationships with key customers, both at the strategic and tactical level. Identify, utilize and manage new/existing supplier partners to maximize value and deliver superior shopper insights. Establish strong, on-going, internal partnerships to gain a deep understanding of business opportunities and knowledge gaps. Work collaboratively with Consumer Insights, Innovation, Shopper Marketing, Brand Marketing and Sales. Serve as the shopper/category expert and customer-focused representative at internal team meetings. Effectively present and communicate compelling insights and findings both internally and externally.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Marketing Research, or related field strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s Degree preferred Experience: 4 years of industry experience in market research and/or category management with demonstrated success, field experience a plus. Food industry experience strongly preferred. Frozen, refrigerated or fresh experience a plus. Practical knowledge of market research fundamentals including primary & secondary consumer/shopper research and syndicated research. Nielsen/IRI syndicated data and panel usage and understanding. Must be comfortable presenting to multiple levels of the organization and voicing opinions to provide business recommendations and consulting that draws on relevant experiences.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent planning and project management skills. Strong ability to leverage creative thinking and presentation skills. Demonstrated success working in cross-functional teams to drive business results. Knowledge of category presentations using shopper and consumer insights, syndicated sources, and primary and/or secondary research Experience with retailer specific data. 84.51 / shopper card a plus. Motivated leader with the ability to devise effective solutions in unstructured situations.
