Manager Renewables Quality Assurance and Quality Control','141520','!*!This position is responsible for providing leadership and

direction, and overall management for the Duke Energy Quality Management Program

(QA) function, and leveraged QA support capabilities across the Duke Energy Renewables

upon request.  This function is staffed

with Operational Excellence professionals consisting of at least two QA/QC

Leads and two Field QA/QC Specialists. 

The number of QA/QC Leads will increase with assigned or inservice

projects.  This position provides recommendations and implementation of strategic

and tactical quality support to mitigate or eliminate quality problems; and for

development, implementation, and monitoring of written QA/QC policies, procedures and

practices.  This position works closely

with all levels of the Renewables Organization to ensure accomplishment of

quality goals through effective leadership, planning, organizing and scheduling

of quality affecting activities. 

This function supports all Renewable projects with Quality Assurance

/Quality Control leadership, technical

assistance, all quality related processes and procedures, audits,

surveillances, compliance assessments, and quality improvement / lesson learned

activities.  This function includes establishment

and maintenance of site/field and organizational quality related requirements

for project operations, contracts, services, auditing and surveillance during

contract activities, coordination of  internal and outside inspection groups,

directing site quality personnel in performing site quality functions such as

auditing and inspections of operational activities, and Renewable related services

or equipment scope of work. Responsibilities: Under very limited leadership from the Director, Operational

Excellence, and with wide latitude for independent judgment and initiative,

responsible for the overall leadership, management, coordination, and

performance of Renewables Quality Assurance and Quality Control functional areas,

including:Renewable Site QA/QC support and oversightOperated and Maintained equipment support and oversightEstablish, maintain, and continuously improve Renewable

quality processes and proceduresConsistent application of QA/QC processes and

procedures across assigned projects or site Continuous improvement and development of the Renewable

Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes and procedures for all

Renewable sites. Responsible for maintaining experienced and qualified staff:Staff utilization planning Staff development, technical guidance, coaching,

and needed QA/QC accreditationsResource deployment and managementQA/QC management for developing and maintaining positive working relationships with both internal and external clients as it relates to both operational and field QA/QC support areas, and quality integration with:Operations, Engineering, Procurement,

Construction and OEM Quality managementQuality Assurance and Quality Controll support interfacing

with many different firmsProfessional Quality organizationsRenewables Quality Audit or Review and Assessment Program:Assures

that the audit or review / assessment program is efficiently and effectively

implementedAssures

that the audit or review / assessment program design provides a comprehensive

system of planned and periodic audits and reviews to verify compliance and

effectiveness of implementation of the Renewable QA/QC ProgramAssures

that programmatic activities/tasks in support of the audit and review function

','!*!  Basic Qualifications:BS or BE in Engineering, Technology, Materials

Science, Metallurgical Science, or related Technical Degree.

·       

Seven (7) to Ten (10) years QA/QC experience or

experience in Engineering, Operations, or Construction of power plants, wind

power plants, solar farms, petrochemical plants, or related projects with a

minimum of five years of this experience as a QA/QC Manager.

·       

QA/QC experience in one or more of the areas of

the Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence Body of Knowledge:

QA/QC Management, QA/QC Program, Process, and Procedure Development and

Deployment, Quality Management Tools, Audit experience, SQS or AQS Management

and /or QA/QC Leadership

·       

Ability to work in an industrial construction

environment which includes exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust and

humidity. 

·       

Ability to climb ladders, enter vessels, and

work in hard to reach and high places.
