IntroductionJob SummaryManage the NiSource Major Projects and Indiana TDSIC Program Project Controls Scheduling Staff.Provide integrated project controls management to the Major Projects Organization. Seamlessly integrate project controls methodology, staff, processes, tools, techniques, and information management systems to provide daily support to the Project Managers, Project Developers, Project Engineers, Project Technical Specialists, Construction Managers, and Major Project's Management. Directly responsible to ensure optimum project controls staff support of individual projects.Leads and Directs Performance Area Capability in Project Initiation, Project Planning and Project Controls; Competent and facilitating support for Project Execution and Project Close-Out and TransitionDevelop, apply, and advance Project Management and Project Controls capability and competence using industry standards (AACE, PMI, Construction Management Industry, etc.) and best practice application to integrate knowledge areas for optimum project delivery application.Lead and direct project team members in regard to project scheduling. Objectifies drives, applies subject matter expertise, directs and leads Project Controls Resources. Conflict Manages, Coaches, Team Builds, Motivates, Inspires, Program Manages Major Project's resources. Demands, promotes, and inspires leadership; leads in 360 degree management cycle. Day to day management of Project Controls Scheduling Staff.Project Control Scheduling Tool and Information System Subject Matter ExpertOptimizes, leads, empowers, accountable for all Project Controls Scheduling PerformancePortfolio-manages Project Controls Scheduling resourcesFacilitates leadership and development of scheduling resourcesAccountable for Project Controls Scheduling StaffManages reporting of project status, performance through KPI metrics and Executive reportingManages Project Scheduling processes and best practicesResponsibilities
Competent in the product life cycle including project development, engineering, construction, testing, turnover and operations support. Ensures scope planning, requirements management, and scope definition and deployment of optimum WBS management methodology to establish integrated product and project baseline development and integrated scope change control methods and controls to ensure project configuration controls. Perform life cycle project change control to prevent quality degradation and project creep.
Manages scheduling requirements for risk mitigation strategies
Provides project controls subject matter expertise support for Contract Project Control / Commercial Components
Responsible for the utilization of project management guidelines, project management standards, processes, job aids, and tools
Manages all project management subsidiary systems to improve project performance
Manages and integrates project schedule with the project budgets and cost performance baselines
Manages core project controls schedule expertise:
Responsible for the utilization of schedule related project management guidelines, project management standards, processes, job aids, and tools
Manage project scheduling effort
Manages project schedule management tools / techniques to advance schedule performance
Manages project continuous life cycle planning and scheduling processes with progressive risk management forecasting with increased predictability, accuracy and precision.
Manages the project schedule performance baselines (as well as the integrated project baselines)
Manages project schedule performance and schedule variance (SV) and identifies opportunities to avoid negative schedule variances
Manages project schedule assessment and analysis processes, tools, and techniques
Manages schedule control processes, tools, techniques
Manages project schedule reporting
Manage project controls effort in regard to project initiation, project planning-project management plan, project control subsidiary plans, project execution and project controls plans, and baseline change control
Accountable for safety and environmental performance for project control staff (internal and external)

QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Required for Selection:
Core Project Controls Scheduling Tool (Primavera) and Information System Subject Matter Expert
Develops, integrates, tailors, manages
Influences, negotiates, team builds, integrates, applies political and cultural awareness; problem solves and collaborates
Integrates and manages leadership; 360 degree

Education/Work Experience: Required for Selection:
Four year College Degree plus six years project controls experience or
Ten years project controls industry experience

Preferred for Selection:
BS Engineering/Technical
PMI-SP Certification
PMP PMI Certification
Primavera Scheduling Certification
