Location:RI - PawtucketEmployment Type:RegularID:12686Job Category:MarketingReporting to the Director Global Consumer Insights, the Manager GCI (Strategic Foresight) position provides research expertise, thought leadership and consultative support in uncovering consumer and market insights through actionable research initiatives and analyses. The Manager will act as an insight hunter, change agent and trusted business partner. Specific responsibilities include executing comprehensive secondary research analyses and delivering concise presentations related to consumer and market opportunities to inform business decisions. This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring entertainment and detecting white space opportunities within toys & games. The Manager will also have responsibility for monitoring global trends and disruptive forces across consumer segments, industries and markets and proactively sharing knowledge/insights, strategic recommendations throughout the organization utilizing a variety of communication vehicles.The Manager GCI will evaluate and manage a select group of research partners to provide provocative, highly actionable consumer and market insight and strategic direction.  Manager will collaborate with team on initiatives to improve systems and processes (e.g., methodologies, reporting/dashboard tools, best practices with GCI, etc.).Job Responsibilities:Uncovers strategic opportunitiesDevelops and executes strategic research projects utilizing conventional and innovative methodologies. Activities include, but are not limited to, strategic opportunity assessment, whitespace identification, consumer and market trend identification. Clearly articulates implications, and makes recommendations for action.Utilizes a variety of sources and collaborates with research partners (internal & external) to validate and integrate diverse insights and expertise across the department.Identifies early “faint signals” to proactively determine potential strategic threats and opportunities.Conducts thorough and careful analysis of data and gathers critical information to help inform business decisions and strategic planning. Identifies themes, trends, business implications and actionable recommendations.Effectively prioritizes tasks and projects to deliver quality solutions.Manages tactical and ad-hoc data analysis, including outsourcing as appropriate and ensuring internal partners are properly trained on various tools.On-Going Trend and Fad TrackingActs as the headlights of the organization by 1) continuously identifying key global consumer trends & fads across the toys and games industry and parallel industries 2) driving a deeper understanding of consumer trends across the organization through monthly trend and fads reports.Collaborate with others on the Strategic Foresight team to deliver trends & fads reports to key internal stakeholders monthly in an engaging, clear, concise format.Leverages key external partnerships to identify marketplace examples and how trends will impact the business.Foster Stakeholder Partnerships and External PartnershipsManages all aspects of projects, including identifying objectives, designing methodology, synthesizing and analyzing research and reporting on findings in a clear, concise and actionable way.Manages resources effectively to deliver results within the project requirements (objectives, schedule and costs).Evaluates vendors and methodologies to provide the highest quality information and insights to internal clients. Assists in supplier evaluation annually.Entertainment Analysis and ReportingContinuously monitor state of Hasbro’s entertainment business both on TV and online.Manages quarterly entertainment tracker aimed at keeping the business up to speed on the performance of Hasbro entertainment properties.Makes actionable recommendations on entertainment strategies including distribution, format, content and platforms.Communicate Research FindingsCommunicates research findings via reports and presentations to management to ensure clear understanding of information and implications.Creatively utilizes non-traditional communication vehicles to ensure insights are understood and adopted across the company.Assist Director with monthly reporting of big data insights to key internal clients.Acts as editor and approver of key deliverables created by junior staff and/or external suppliers.Consistently ensures the integrity and correct interpretation of all research information.Proactively tracks and communicates broad consumer and market trend information.
