Being part of the Enterprise Data Office, this Manager for data engineering, will be accountable for ensuring the data assets being built and managed by EDO are adhering to the established processes, practices and compliance standards.

This role is accountable for

Data protection and compliance of all data Assets

Ensure practice adherence for all data assets

Evaluate and bring in new and emerging tools in data space

Ensure production stability and availability for  Enterprise level services(ETL, Data Virtualization, Text analytics etc)

Tool enhancements, currency & upgrades

Right financial rigor and effective vendor management.

This individual will be managing a team, comprising primarily vendor partners across United States & India. This position is based in Hartford, CT reporting into the Practices & Process lead.

Primary Responsibilities

Adherence to data processes, practices and compliance requirements

Accountable to ensure all EDO data assets are following expected design & build processes

Act as Business account manager in managing various data tools in EDO data portfolio

Identify currency gaps across platforms and execute on upgrades

Ensure asset currency and alignment to technology and business roadmaps

Accountable for compliance initiatives such as PII, SOX, PCI and ensuring all data assets are following the risk& control standards, data compliance requirements.

Service Availability

Accountable for upkeep and availability of all tools in the portfolio

Accountable to ensure that a proper Disaster recovery solution, and validation of the different components that make up the solution is in place

Capacity assessment and management across various platforms

Accountable for remediation and removal of all production incidents impacting the application

Technology roadmap and currency

Own and manage the Enterprise level services for ETL, Data Virtualization, Text Mining and analytics and the roadmaps

Define/refine chargeback model for various platforms, services and tools supported by the portfolio

Influence architectural direction of the tool capabilities being provided by EDO and ensure alignment to the data strategy and roadmap.

Evaluate and bring in new and emerging tools in data space. 


Resource Management

Manage team of vendor partners supporting production support and Maintenance activities across US, India and be responsible for their competency development

Provide ongoing/proactive performance feedback to resources and invest into their talent enhancement

Vendor Management 

Responsible for SLA & KPI reporting, monitoring, management and escalation

Plan, monitor and manage sourcing capacity based on business demand

Maintain sourcing partner relationships, assuring teams work in a cohesive manner

Be knowledgeable of and execute to our multi-year sourcing MBM contracts and changes

Manage vendor to enterprise improvement, productivity, and quality goals

Ensure vendor adheres to contractual obligations','!*!WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?

IT professional with 10 years of proven leadership capabilities, with a minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams as a HR manager or project manager or delivery Lead.

Background in the Property & Casualty industry is a plus.

BS or BA degree.

Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills across multiple audiences from highly technical team members to business across multiple levels of leadership

Solid understanding and experience with

Data management background

Project delivery

Resource management

Agile methodologies

Vendor Management in MBM model

Detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with strong analytical skills.

Team player with demonstrated customer and delivery focus
