Basic Function: Manager

  • Under the direction of the Director Consumer Insights, the Manager will be responsible for analyzing advertising and marketing programs, tests, and media vehicles to determine effectiveness and viability of marketing and advertising spend. The Manager will also be responsible for providing analysis summaries and go-forward recommendations after analyzing data.

    What will you be doing? Analysis of all chain ads, market basket, ROP and Grand Openings programs to determine advertising effectiveness. Lead analysis to determine the optimum ad type, including format, page count, size, etc.

    Analyze effectiveness of different promotions and categories displayed in the ad. Analyzes key media vehicles by market to determine marketing effectiveness. Provides in-depth analysis to marketing and executive summary highlights for all marketing vehicles.

    As part of the analysis considers direct marketing efforts, weather, store openings, competitiveness, and media cuts/increases, other media types (direct mail, magazine, radio, TV). Will work in partnership with media team and Sr. Director of Marketing. Lead and own testing of effectiveness of Marketing Vehicles.

    Tests will include how effectiveness of vehicles interacts when utilized together and with different offers. Works with key cross-functional associates (operations, advertising, outside media vendors) to determine standardized core metrics that show advertising/sales ratios and ROI for all marketing budget line items Performs other analysis and projects that may be assigned. Job Requirements Minimum level of formal education:

    Bachelor degree Area of study: Degree in Marketing, Finance, or Economics with proven analytical skills. MBA preferred.

    Skills Required: 5 years experience in marketing/advertising analysis preferably in retail industry. Solid Access, Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills. SAS and/or SQL skills are highly recommended.

    Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to determine appropriate content and style for a diverse group. Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions make recommendations. Detail oriented and self-starter who is equally comfortable working with a high-level group or autonomously.

    Ability and willingness to work under pressure and meet deadlines. SDL2017
