The Global Customer Operations (GCO) organization within LinkedIn is looking for a Manager, Technology Systems to join the Technology Systems team within the Technology Solutions & Operations (TS&O) organization in a business impacting manager role. In this role, this manager will be responsible for leading a multi-location team of technology-focused individuals who specialize in custom tool creation, system integration, technical coding, API development, and more for the GCO front line teams. The motivated and passionate manager candidate should become a trusted and respected leader who is relationship and operationally focused to support the business priorities in line with GCO and LinkedIn.

Responsibilities:

Effectively manage and lead a team of individual contributors through coaching, mentoring, and guiding in line with LinkedIn’s Culture and Values

Establish strong working relationships with leaders across LinkedIn’s Global Customer Operations business units (Customer Support, Growth & Engagement, Product Operations, Trust & Safety, Technology Solutions & Ops, etc.)

Ability to deal with ambiguity and change in a dynamic business environment as well as building collaborative relationships to achieve results through the team

Deeply understand the business and anticipate/develop business priorities for future action

Manage all aspects of: software development lifecycle, internal tools roadmap, technology consultation, budgets & resources, reporting, and vendor/stakeholder management

Manage and update metrics that clearly measure progress, demonstrate success, and highlight challenges to overcome across functional business units

Provide strategic consultation and advice on the design, development, and delivery of technical systems and services

Research trends and innovations and remain current with all developments, new techniques, and technologies in the field

Identify and drive opportunities to improve team efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency with global and local needs understood

Partner, coordinate, and communicate with cross-functional teams, including internal business customers and non-GCO groups at a regular cadence

Collaborate closely with peers across Online Support Operations, Program Management & Operations, Learning and Performance Solutions, Regional teams, and Technology Systems

Participate in code review sessions with the team to maximize software craftsmanship

Some domestic and international travel may be required (up to 10%)

Basic Qualifications:

4 years hands-on full-stack (back-end & front-end) programming experience

3 years of experience with database, data querying, data migration, and system integration

years of people management 

Systems Architecture and platform design

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technology field

Understanding and experience with the Laravel PHP framework

Knowledge of MySQL database

Specific engineering development and coding experience in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, React, NodeJS, or other modern web development technologies

Experience with modern front-end development such as VueJS, ReactJS, or SCSS

Understanding of source control & dependency management tools like GitLab, GitHub, or Composer

Unit Testing, quality assurance, and/or test-driven development experience

Competency in web services such as SOAP and REST

Experience collaborating with other business units to meet company goals and standards

Experience with remote employee management

Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills; proven research skills to gather data, best practices, and points of view to ensure sound judgment

Highly organized, able to work with minimal supervision, and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Experience defining roadmaps and building business cases to champion the case for change when necessary

Strong communication or organizational development experience

Advanced written and verbal communication skills using a variety of communication channels to different management levels across a global organization

Ability to drive team success by hitting and maintaining key metrics

Experience working in high-growth, performance focused environments
