Manager, Social Media Analytics, Inc. - New York City, NY

Job Overview: The Manager of Social Media Analytics will lead the creation and development of social media reporting at Macy's. This includes platforms as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, and any other priority emerging platforms. This position works closely with the rest of the Media Team, Merchandise Marketing, Media Effectiveness, Consumer Insights, Content Strategy, Campaign Management, and outside agencies. This candidate must have extensive experience developing both social media performance reporting and social listening. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented, analytically minded, a good communicator and has a strong understanding of the social landscape. The digital team culture is fast paced, innovative, analytical, and focused on delivering results. Essential Functions: • Create and distribute social listening and social performance reporting for senior leadership including but not limited to brand health, competitive insights, and product/store feedback. • Recap social performance frequently and conduct A/B testing to help inform the direction of social media content strategy. • Act as subject matter expert for all insights regarding Macy's social media performance and community. • Establish social performance and benchmarking best practices and make recommendations based on findings. • Work closely with external partners to ensure innovation in the type of insights Macy's gathers from social media. • Stay abreast of industry trends in the social analytics space, including updates to native analytics platforms. • Communicate social listening insights to internal stakeholders to inform the direction of the merchandising, store planning, product development, and other areas of the company. • Analyze effectiveness of influencer marketing and provide recommendations to optimize strategy based on results. • Work with the agency counterparts on post-campaign analysis/insights and present to internal stakeholders including marketing and creative teams. • Support the Director of Social Media in being the liaison between Macy's and the Media Agency. • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality. Qualifications: Education/Experience: • Minimum of 5 years in social media with analytics and social listening experience. • BA/BS required, with advanced-level statistical analytics experience. • Experience working for an industry-leading company or agency with significant media budgets. • Strong familiarly with social listening tools like Crimson Hexagon, Sprinklr, Netbase, or BrandWatch. • Deep and thorough knowledge of the insights capabilities of social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, etc). • Background in working with the retail industry or a multi-unit company with a field organization (e.g. retail, automotive, fast food, entertainment, etc.). • Fluent in Boolean search queries preferred. Communication Skills: • Strong communication skills. • Ability to interface with cross functional internal teams and outside media and advertising agencies to conceptualize programs, sell internally, and execute. • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly. Demonstrated active listening skills, highly consultative and solutions-oriented.• Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to think innovatively to meet business goals. Reasoning Ability: • Analytical and creative with a quick, passionate and assertive approach. • Proven ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders and juggle multiple projects in a very fast paced environment.
