BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Manager, Sales Readiness is responsible for managing all sales training functions including the design, development, measurement and delivery of training programs in support of development of existing and new sales team and customer care members. Provides coaching and supervision to training team for quality control, consistency and process improvements.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages the activities related to various training and educational programs for the Sales organization.

Maintains an advanced level of knowledge of products, technical, sales goals, processes, and business requirements to ensure and effectively delivery impactful training.

Studies and identifies individual or group training needs, plans, develops, interprets and administers sound training programs, practices and procedures consistent with the goals and strategic objectives of the sales organization.

Directs the execution of plans relative to on-boarding, product training, sales training, and sales management training.

Uses a variety of instructional methods to ensure maximum delivery effectiveness, including individual or small group instruction, self-study, simulation and role plays, distance learning, etc.

Develops curriculum and instructional materials that support course, learning and strategic objectives based on classroom size and expertise.

Works closely with Management in the Sales Executive evaluation process to determine skill set and areas of need

Develop and maintain metrics that can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the learning delivered to the organization and overall ROI.

Develops specifications for course content; prepares lesson plans; provides train-the-trainer instruction; conducts research and works with subject matter experts in designing training programs.

Conducts needs assessment, analyzes data and determines appropriate training solutions including centralized class-room, decentralized field programs, and distance learning programs.

Responsible for annual training and development budget including sales and product training.

Performs all duties inherent in the role of MSC Senior Manager as defined by the MSC Code of Conduct including hiring, termination, review and development of associates.

Drives the MSC Culture in the customer fulfillment center and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.

Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

Partner with Sr. Sales Leadership to deliver learning solutions that drive improved wallet share growth, speed to readiness, and win the customers trust.

Work with Sr. Sales Leadership to design and develop sales plays

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in business, organizational development or other related discipline or equivalent experience required.

MBA or advanced degree and/or professional certifications preferred.

Minimum of five years of related experience within various training disciplines; prefer experience that demonstrates successful progression of management responsibilities in a multi-unit sales or retail organization.

Minimum four years of experience managing associates required.

Experience with insight-led selling approach and rollout preferred. Experience with measuring ROI on training required.

3-5 years sales or sales management experience required.

SKILLS:

Must demonstrate competency in planning and the effective execution of plans relative to needs analysis, development of training programs/materials, strong presentation/facilitation skills, implementation of field training programs.

Must have good working knowledge of training mediums: class-room, distance learning, field training (one-on-one)

The ability to utilize PC software such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word are required.

Proven ability to effectively manage and complete multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced business environment.

Proven ability to effectively manage a training staff to accomplish strategic direction of organization.

Ability to work with all levels of the organization is required.

Insight-led selling skills is preferred.

Skilled written and verbal communicator with the ability to disrupt assumptions of internal and external customers is preferred.

Excellent facilitation skills with the ability to coach other trainers to develop their own skills is required.

Strong instructional design skills are preferred.

Ability to work well cross-functionally is required.

Comfortable with digital learning as well as CRM technology, and able to learn quickly as technology changes.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 30% of the time may be required.
