JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Global Affiliate Marketing is a core member of the Global Marketing team, heading the global affiliate channel for the world’s largest hotel company. This manager role assists with the development and management of Marriott’s global affiliate program, with the main objective of increasing visibility for Marriott International and driving room nights and revenue to Marriott.com and its global websites. The position plays a pivotal part in creating the strategy, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), and executing digital marketing campaigns and other performance based marketing initiatives for a company that encompasses 30 brands with more than 6,000 properties in 122 countries and territories. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Display & Global Affiliates and will act as the online affiliate channel expert working with internal teams and key stakeholders as appropriate.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Preferred

• 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, or related major and 3 years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance;

OR

• 5 years of relevant professional experience in of relevant professional experience in marketing or related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Revenue and Business Objectives:

• Develops compelling affiliate campaigns that drive qualified traffic and direct bookings on Marriott.com and other global sites

• Manages reporting and optimization efforts for affiliate campaigns; improves Marriott’s exposure on affiliate sites driving overall program performance and ensuring goals and KPIs are met

• Identifies and evaluates new opportunities to promote Marriott through new partnerships and online marketing activities

• Markets the affiliate channel to various stakeholders within Marriott and creates documentation and marketing assets

• Achieves annual room night, revenue, and ROI targets for Marriott’s global affiliate campaigns and online partnerships

• Manages affiliate marketing financial model and budget, ensuring profitability initiatives are met

• Develops KPIs to monitor and analyze campaign performance identifying trends and providing insights

• Defines the role that affiliate marketing plays within the larger digital marketing mix, providing regular direction and communication to stakeholders to maximize the performance of campaigns

Program Development & Execution:

• Monitors campaign performance, determines proper recruitment and optimization tactics for each campaign to drive overall program growth

• Identifies and analyzes new opportunities; builds a strategic roadmap to coordinate rapid deployment for testing and implementation

• Builds solid relationships with top partners for each campaign and works with them directly to optimize performance

• Develops new initiatives and solutions to resolve business problems experienced within the affiliate channel

• Collaborates with international stakeholders and activates additional global campaigns to reach new audiences around the world

• Partners with cross functional teams to resolve program obstacles and accomplish business goals including Digital Merchandising, IT, Measurement & Analysis, Finance, Product Development, Legal, Brand Marketing, Marriott Rewards and Field Support.

• Provides strategic insight to support other channel leads with cross-campaign planning; ensure close alignment with all paid channels

• Serves as technical point of contact for the program including tracking, tag management and researching and resolving any technical bugs to ensure the smooth running of the program

• Acts as the dedicated point of contact and manages all relevant communications with internal and external stakeholders including inboxes, inquiries, newsletters, campaign descriptions, and marketing collateral

• Participates in key industry events to gain additional exposure within the affiliate industry; monitors and reports out on industry best practices

• Manages and maintains the setup and processing of affiliate files and product feeds

• Assists with periodic invoicing and delivery of payments to vendors, affiliates and agency partners

Agency & Vendor Relations:

• Manages agency and vendor relationships, providing direction and regular communications around Marriott’s digital marketing initiatives

• Leads agencies in the execution of campaigns to ensure optimal ROI

• Holds regular meetings to review project timelines/agendas, campaign metrics and recruitment/optimization efforts

• Coordinates the development of recommendations based on industry best practices

• Establishes strong relationships with business partners to identify new opportunities and negotiate favorable commercial agreements

• Coordinates quarterly business meetings to review performance and plan strategic roadmap

Reporting and Analysis:

• Leads campaign reporting and creation of summary reports; presents key findings, communicates business impact and provides recommendations across the organization

• Analyzes performance of campaigns, provides streamlined recommendations allowing for further optimization increasing value to Marriott globally

• Partners with analysis team to define relevant KPIs and carve out specific goals for each campaign

• Coordinates campaign reporting discussions with agencies and vendors; summarizes key learnings in compelling and concise communication materials for internal stakeholders

• Monitors and reports out on digital marketing and competitive trends; develops competitive benchmarking analyses

• Performs ad hoc requests as needed

Skills:

• Expert knowledge and significant experience within the affiliate industry or relevant digital marketing discipline

• Comprehensive knowledge of digital marketing methods and web analytics

• Highly adaptable to rapidly changing digital landscape, strong technical acumen

• Proficient in MS Office with a focus on Excel
