Provides overall leadership in the coordination, planning, logistics and execution of very large, high profiled multi-day meetings, tradeshows, workshops, and events across all business units and geographies in Japan & Asia Pacific (JAPAC).  Events may involve both internal and external customers.  The position will be responsible for end to end event ownership from creating the event marketing strategy, logistics management and execution to meet and/or exceed goals.   Formulates budgets, selects and coordinates the activities of vendors, presenters, sponsors and clients.  Partners with executive management, sales leaders, marketing and communications to coordinate, plan and establish key strategies and objectives for the event.  Develops and manages integration plans and strategies of acquired companies and /or other business units when needed.   Develop and manage special projects to enhance the department and workflow.  Manages a team of meeting and event managers and individual contributors on a global basis.  Ensures adherence to compliance regulations and policies.  

Essential job functions:

Lead the design, planning and execution of the annual JAPAC Kick Off Meeting.

Design, plan and execute annual JAPAC Sales Incentive Trip collaborating and aligning needs with key stakeholders.

Execute pan-Asian and/or multiple business unit events and meetings across the JAPAC region.

Manage budget and track aforementioned event finances including processing check requests, invoicing, and expense reporting.

Develop and manage the annual congress strategy; identify global and regional business initiatives and how to effectively impact through congress strategies; includes marketing, brand, sales, product and new business development initiatives. Identify new congress opportunities.

Negotiate higher volume and complex contracts.

Develop congress objectives and strategies to ensure business goals are met at each congress; brand awareness, product messaging, education, networking, market research.

Create successful congress promotional sponsorship strategies and communication plans to maximize Edwards brand presence and exposure to the customer.

Initiate process development and improvements; identify new vendor opportunities; develop relationships to maximize Edwards benefits in execution.

Lead annual fiscal planning; annual budget preparation, forecasting, analysis, reporting; drive strategies to forecast optimal capex vs. opex spending.

Lead cross functional teams to successful results.','!*!Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 10 years of work experience OR Master's degree with 8 years of related experience working in sales, marketing, or healthcare industry required.

Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Certified Meeting Professional healthcare subspecialty (CMP-HC) preferred.

Proven successful project management skills.

Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives.

Recognized as an expert in own area with specialized depth within the organization.

Expert understanding of related aspects of marketing concepts and principles.

Expert knowledge and understanding of policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to strategic event planning.

Expert knowledge and understanding expertise in event management strategies: speaker management, content development, attendee/invite strategies.

Strict attention to detail.

Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization.

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.

Represents leadership on projects within a specific area working closely with cross-functional team, marketing peers and leaders and managing needs and messaging to upper management.

Consult in project setting within specific marketing area.

CVENT Event Management Software knowledge preferred.

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways.

Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.

Must be able to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams, with supervisory guidance provided as needed in the execution of routine tasks.
