Travelers is seeking a Digital Marketing Manager with significant performance-marketing experience to manage and execute integrated marketing plans that drive customers, prospects, and independent agents to engage with our content while increasing preference and demand for Travelers across both commercial and personal lines of insurance.\r

Reporting to the Director, Digital Marketing Execution, the Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for media planning as well as launching media, testing, optimizing campaigns, and analyzing results for a specific set of commercial-lines audiences and/or lines of business such as Cyber Insurance, Manufacturing, and Non-Profit. The winning candidate will also support campaigns related to the Travelers Risk Index, which measures the biggest risk-related concerns within specific industries; Travelers Institute, which advocates for small business on a variety of issues; and weather-related safety and catastrophe response.\r

Beyond the specific campaigns that s/he is responsible for, the Digital Marketing Manager will support Director when it comes to project management and campaign tracking across multiple additional campaigns. The winning candidate is expected to act as an extension of the marketing team, supporting the priorities of the 2VP of Digital and Social Marketing and working seamlessly with a broader team within and outside of Enterprise Digital Marketing. This includes members of Enterprise Marketing/Creative Services, Business Insurance Marketing, Legal, Ad Operations, and our existing agency team at Spark Foundry (formerly MediaVest).\r

The position does not manage others, but may provide guidance and/or training to less-seasoned team members. Position requires General Supervision: Incumbent independently performs a variety of duties, including potentially complex duties within established policy guidelines; responsible for a defined set of assignments; is expected to set priorities and meet specific goals and objectives of the function or unit. \r

\r
Channel Management\r
Accountable for implementing digital marketing strategy, content, media and related technologies through specific channels that support organizational marketing objectives for entire online customer journey (engagement, acquisition, and/or retention of business).\r
Weekly Optimization Summary and Recommendations\r
 \r
• Evaluate weekly performance, compare across campaigns, and locate/explain anomalies\r
• Write weekly optimization recommendations and review with Director and 2VP\r
Creative Trafficking and Approvals:\r
 * Review creative with the VP of Enterprise Digital Marketing for feedback and approvals\r
• Write up recommended creative changes to address feedback and achieve campaign goals\r
• Coordinate other team members to obtain legal approval\r
Media QA\r
 * Review and test all media (e.g. social dark links) against planning spreadsheet and creative PDFs to ensure accuracy\r
• Review and test DCM Floodlight tags in coordination with Ad Operations\r

Project Management of Paid Campaign Process:\r
 * Update tracking spreadsheet daily\r
• Check in with creative services, Ad Operations, and channel leads at Spark to ensure that launches and changes are occurring according to schedule\r
• Alert Director and 2VP of any deviations from the schedule and offer recommendations related to any impacts (e.g. reprioritization, etc.)\r

Media Planning\r
Perform necessary research to collaborate with the agency and internal stakeholders to develop quarterly media plans for the Digital Marketing Manager’s core set of campaigns:\r
 * Research best performing topics and media in order to recommend topic sequencing for upcoming months\r
• Make recommendations to Director as needed regarding budget allocation by channel, business unit, and campaign.\r

Analytics and Test and Learn\r
 * Help construct, execute, and interpret the results of key tests in different channels. Apply methods to improve engagement and/or conversion through technology and process opportunities (A/B testing, segmentation, content targeting, etc.)\r
• Understand Key Performance Indicators to measure campaign and resource performance and identify efforts for improving engagement, acquisition, and/or retention.\r

Other Support and Participation\r
 * Participate in discussions with team members on business programs and initiatives.\r
• Participates in discussions with team members to understand the goals of business partners and to make recommendations on strategies to address those goals (via digital, social and mobile, and content marketing).\r
• Become familiar with functions performed by other marketing disciplines.\r
• Other duties as assigned.\r

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or other related field or equivalent experience preferred\r
Minimum of 4 years of experience with digital marketing and media planning\r
Preferred experience as a digital marketer/account manager for a strong brand or agency\r
Experience in insurance and/or financial services desirable.\r
General knowledge of data-driven content marketing\r
General knowledge on how to research and target wants/needs of various audiences.\r

Strong time and project management skills\r
Strong verbal and written communication skills\r
Intermediate to strong understanding of digital advertising landscape\r
Intermediate analytical skills \r
Intermediate ability to evaluate effectiveness of programs\r
Demonstrated flexibility and intermediate ability to think “outside the box”\r
Intermediate skill/competency level:  demonstrates solid knowledge and ability; can apply the competency with minimal or no guidance, in the full range of typical situations.  Requires guidance handling novel or more complex situations
