Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician will work in production environments with pharmaceutical equipment and will maintain this equipment in an uncompromised state of readiness with respect to GMP, safety and professional quality standards. The Maintenance Technician will inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild and modify equipment as directed.  They should be able to understand, follow and maintain machine manuals, schematics and diagrams. They will determine corrective actions based on operational machine alerts, as well as assist with installing, maintaining, testing and validating new equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

*Performing preventive maintenance to keep equipment in sound working condition *Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components. *Tear down equipment, rebuild and replace defective parts and component units such as: motors, gear boxes, bearings and electrical components, reassemble and make final equipment adjustments. *Utilizing any/all testing equipment or diagnostic skills to determine real cause of problems *Install and set up new pharmaceutical equipment. *Perform routine preventive maintenance on various pieces of equipment. *Instructing operators as needed to prevent machine or system damage *Execute safe work practices & behaviors, adhere to GMP requirements and keep work area clean.

Minimum Qualifications:

*At least 5 years of hands -on experience in a manufacturing environment maintaining equipment *Formal technical training *Preventive maintenance and repairs on pharma, industrial and process equipment *Excellent mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting equipment issues *Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, P&IDs and mechanical drawings *Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision *Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities *Requires computer literacy to include word processing, spreadsheet, email and basic software capabilities *Position may involve standing for extended periods of time. *Able to lift up to 75 pounds, good visual accuracy, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, effective verbal communication skills.
