Exide Technologies is searching for a full-time Maintenance Technician. Must have Industrial electrical knowledge, PLC experience (Siemens and/or Allen Bradley), and strong Mechanical abilities. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems in fast paced, automated manufacturing environment. Candidates must be open to shift changes and a technical degree or training is preferred. 

12 hr A/C shift:           4:00 AM to 4:30 PM

12 hr B/D shift:           4:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Job Requirements

Knowledge of 3-phase electrical AC & DC controls and PLC based equipment

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed

Troubleshooting – Determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it

Work well under pressure to repair equipment quickly

Understands, and applies safe work practices, including lock-out/tag-out, confined space entry, as well as safety practices relevant to mechanical skill sets

Reads and understands electrical, equipment manuals, pneumatic schematics as well as mechanical drawings

Position requires 3-5 year experience, pass internal maintenance test, and pass physical and hair follicle drug screen

Able to see, hear and speak; able to sit, stand for at least two hours at a time, sit, bend, craw, squat, kneel and climb able to use both arms and hands to use a computer and peripherals and lift 40 pounds from floor level, able to work below ground level in confined spaces and on stationary or mobile elevated platforms, able to wear respirator and other PPE as required, able to climb stairs. Able to work extended shifts and weekends as needed.  

Work Environment

Able to work inside or outside the plant environment and in all climate conditions. The employee may occasionally be exposed to lead, fume, noise, dirt, hazards, chemicals, heat and cold. Travel as required for training, meeting with regulatory agencies, and to other company sanctioned events.
