Job Advertisement

Participate/support the RMP (Risk Management Process) and assist in the development of the system and operational standards and corrective actions.

Develop, schedule and maintain planned and weekly predictive maintenance procedures for each mechanic, utilizing SAP maintenance tool.

Review daily open notifications and issue to mechanics individually or lea

d workers to be reissued.

Ensure 100% compliance of all PM’s and food safety PM’s every week.

Weekly reporting for PM compliance, breakdowns, planned and routine work.

(All mechanics time planned at 65% daily).

Examines jobs to be done and determines best way to accomplish the work in conjunction with area supervisors

Review and screen each work request to see that is has been properly filled out and provide necessary feedback.

Prioritize plans for annual factory shutdowns.

The PM program should be a living program, it should continually be reviewed and updated to reflect the needs of the factory, this includes:

Adjusting time intervals to reduce downtime

Reviewing tasks list with maintenance mechanics to add or delete tasks (over the course of a year every single task list should be reviewed and updated)

Creating time based change parts on items that have been found to have a life cycle and fail repetitively

Must have a clear understanding of all production processes to ensure maintenance work orders are planned properly.

Must spend time on the production floor with mechanics to ensure tasks are planning and executed properly

Create schedule for machine rebuilds and work with Engineering to prioritize capital funding.

Work with Process Improvement Lead to create BOM’s and assemblies for equipment.

Identify and obtain (requisitions, orders, kits as appropriate and in keeping with procedures) materials, special tools and equipment necessary to complete the work

Determine if critical items are in stock by verifying availability with stores

Estimate cost of each work order in terms of direct labor, materials required and total cost

Maintain backlog files of work orders waiting scheduling in accordance with their priority limits with an estimated completion date

Assists in developing a file of standard work orders (plans) for regularly recurring repair jobs, based on historical experience

Review with the maintenance supervisor the actual labor expended versus estimated labor and material used for completed jobs

Conduct informal training as required of maintenance personnel in proper maintenance procedures and proper reporting procedures and in the use of SAP maintenance tool

Review all completed work orders for completeness and accuracy, updating machinery history data in SAP as required. Establish and keeps Bills of Material up to date

Training and Safety – Provide a safe and healthful work environment for all personnel through consistent support of the company’s Safety Process. Oversee safety processes including, but not limited to, goal setting, hazard recognition, and elimination, administration of safety procedures and corresponding corrective action, area inspection, job skills, and compliance training, accident investigation and safety meetings.

Interprets company policies to workers and enforces policies and safety regulations.

Must be able to work flexible hours; days, afternoons, midnights, overtime and weekends as necessary.

As necessary, other duties and/or projects may be assigned.

Education and Experience

Prefer Associates degree in mechanical/electrical or related field or High School diploma or equivalent required

Mechanical and electrical background is necessary and technical school background is desired

Two years’ experience in an industrial packaging /processing environment

Food experience highly desirable

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Proficient computer skills (typing, Word, Excel, Outlook, or equivalents)

Highly motivated, self-starter

Understand the relationship between Management/Maintenance/Operations

Good Technical Writing skills

Read and understand Technical Manuals and prints

Good verbal and written communication skills

Higher than average willingness and ability to organize process work flow

Adequate trade knowledge to estimate labor hours and materials and to visualize the job to be performed

The ability to read basic parts diagrams and shop drawings

Understanding the proper methods to be employed in replacing or maintaining typical mechanical equipment items. This includes, but is not limited to: Conveyors, belt and bucket elevators, mills, pumps, processing equipment etc.

Safety conscious, promotes safety awareness

Must be able to work independently with little supervision.

Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced environment.

Excellent interpersonal, and organizational skills and must be detail and process oriented.

Willingness to grow with the organization.

Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment and be able to identify and solve problems.

Incumbent must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
