The Land O’Lakes Supply Chain & Operations division provides strategic leadership across the company’s many business units.  The team plays a significant role in fueling revenue growth and profitability through operational excellence, quality, process improvement and innovation.  By partnering closely with Finance, Marketing and Human Resources, the team delivers value to Land O’Lakes business unikts, members and customers.

Position Purpose:

Are you energized by using your mechanical, technical, and leadership skills in a Manufacturing environment?  If so, being a Maintenance Manager in our Purina Animal Nutrition feed plant may be a good fit for you!

Your focus would be to provide leadership and direction to your Maintenance team.  The intent of this position is to ensure the day-to-day operation and reliability of the plant production systems including corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance of the plant process equipment systems.

Capital project management is also a key function of this position.

You will report directly to the Plant Manager and have 2 direct reports.



Experience-Education (Required):

-Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Project Management or related field.

-4 years proven experience and success in an Maintenance Supervisory/Management role in a high speed/high volume manufacturing environment, or 8 years of proven experience and success in a Class-A, highly skilled Maintenance Technician/Specialist role in a high speed/high volume manufacturing environment.

Competencies-Skills (Required):

-Embracing a safety culture and fostering growth and support of the culture is a must.

-Ability to schedule Preventative, Predictive, and Planned work utilizing CMMS(Computerized Maintenance Management System).

-Capital project management following Company guidelines for project creation, planning, execution, utilization, and process workflow.  You will be working closely with engineering and contractors.

-Strive for continuous improvement to meet changing Quality and Production goals.

-Ability to lead others to achieve goals of the organization.

-Ability to prioritize along with outstanding organizational skills.


-Very strong PLC, Electrical, Mechanical troubleshooting skill set.

-Ability to work closely with all levels of the organization and local/regional contractors.

-Ability to coach, develop, and engage Maintenance technicians and provide feedback to ensure continued development.

-Computer skills with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

-Manage the Plant’s Maintenance monthly/annual operating budget.

-Working knowledge of FDA, OSHA regulations, Good Management Practices (GMP’s).

-Ability to communicate and problem solve.

Experience-Education (Preferred):

-Advanced degree with 5 years of operations maintenance experience.

Competencies-Skills (Preferred):

-PLC Programming.

-Understanding of regulatory requirements for feed/food safety.

-Understanding of World Class and Best In Industry maintenance practices.

Percentage of Travel: Negligible, <5% of the time.
