Position Purpose:

Maintenance Manager provides leadership and support to the maintenance/engineering organization at the Melrose, MN 24/7/365 Dairy Manufacturing plant.

This also includes focus on planning and implementation of maintenance enhancements that will improve productivity while assuring highest levels of safety, quality, sanitation and regulatory compliance. Manages site assets, facility maintenance and modifications of equipment and ensures that mechanical and electrical expertise is available to production and other departments to maintain production systems, equipment, utilities, buildings and grounds.  Responsible for the supervision, development, and leadership of 2 direct reports and 18 maintenance personnel, including the Boiler Room.

Experience-Education (Required):

-High School Diploma and a minimum of 10 plus years of proven experience in a Maintenance Supervisory/Management Role in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in a food environment

-Experience with PLC and Electrical knowledge, strong Mechanical Aptitude, familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)

-Continuous Improvement (CI) Processes/Lean Maintenance, ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report follow through on any deficiencies

-Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change

Competencies – (Required)

-Skills sets in organization, prioritizing and attention to detail

-Ability to select, coach, develops, engage and retain a team of employees.

-Experience managing a maintenance department-operating budget with extensive project management planning and oversight experience

-Computer Skills including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD, Project, and Visio

-Understand maintenance planning and scheduling

-Thorough understanding of PLC’s, programming and Project management principles

-Understand World Class and Best in the Industry Maintenance practices

-Excellent verbal/written communication skills

Experience – Education (Preferred)

-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Project Management or related field highly desirable

Note: This role may require off shift hours, weekend and holidays as needed.
