The Second Press Operator assists the First Press Operator with make-readies, press equipment operations, performing quality control functions and enforcing the safety rules. This position is a leadership role and will assist in directing the work activities of the press crewmembers to ensure productivity, quality and safety goals are met. \u00a0The role is physically demanding. \u00a0The work is done while standing. \u00a0The job will include the ability to bend and lift 10-15 pounds continuously, ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally, perform repetitious tasks, use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement. \u00a0The ability to perform basic math calculations is vital as is the ability to follow instructions and use vision in order to identify defects.\u00a0What do I need to qualify?Must have 1-3 years previous press room experience, including ability to web up press. \u00a0 Previous second press operator experience is desired. \u00a0 Will consider applicants that have worked in an offset, gravure or sheet fed environment. \u00a0 \u00a0On the job training is available to support continued development as a Press Operator. Knowledge of Offset and Ink Jet Presses is a plus. A solid understanding of mailing regulations is preferred.
