Job Title: Senior Manager of Packaging & Pricing Strategy - Commercial

Summary

FTR is seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Packaging & Pricing Strategy - Commercial to work closely with our Product, Marketing, Sales and Analytics teams to create and implement a comprehensive packaging/pricing strategy to enable revenue generation. The Senior Manager will be responsible for reviewing our current packaging/pricing structure across Tier 1, 2, and 3 and develop a new strategy that will fill gaps across our portfolio with a focus on our Data/Internet products. The role will require interactions with our channels – both direct sales and 3rd party. FTR would like a candidate to join the efforts in continuously improving our Go-To-Market Strategy with regards to Pricing & Packaging.

A successful candidate for this position will also be required to work cross-functionally (in addition to the internal product, marketing, sales, analytics teams), and understand the full sales cycle of our products to ensure that the new packages will drive incremental revenues and facilitate more transactions. The role is to report to the VP of Marketing, Retention and Packaging/Pricing.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Review and then develop packaging/pricing strategy with inputs and leadership from VP of Marketing, Retention and Packaging/Pricing

• Deliver data-driven insights, producing recommendations and business cases to support actionable strategic direction and business prioritization to drive improvements to pricing & packaging

• Identify gaps in our current product portfolio, partnering with our Product teams, leveraging analytical tools and rigorous data reviews

• Coordinate across Product, Marketing, Sales and Analytics to leverage the skills and expertise of the various team members, while overseeing specific initiatives from start to finish

• Execute on business strategy, leading and supporting projects with cross-functional partners, including channel organizations (Direct Sales, Alt Channels), project management, marketing, operations, legal, and compliance

• Oversee and enable execution by prioritizing projects with IT via the Product team (or leverage other processes like shorter-term solutions) and help with project mgmt. as needed

• Pilot, refine and update packages by analyzing the success of the price packages and solution sets by working with Analytics to track sales and by obtaining feedback from the sales teams; may require ad-hoc data analysis

• Identify success metrics and develop reporting to track progress against goals and present results, insights and recommendations to leadership and team

• Initial focus to be on acquisition of new customers, but as projects prove successful, the position will require partnering with Retention to execute on strategies to grow share of wallet of existing customers

Requirements

• 5-7 years’ experience in packaging/pricing strategy or strategy (management consulting background preferred)

• BA with a focus on marketing or management or other related field (MBA preferred)

• Skilled at operating at both strategic and tactical levels, including proven experience managing product/service packaging/pricing

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to succinctly synthesize data, develop recommendations, create slides and present to senior leaders

• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills

• Comfort with ambiguity with an ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex, dynamic environment

• Demonstrable leadership skills in a team setting, with the ability to influence and build consensus with partners at all levels

• Ability to manage multiple projects that vary in scope and complexity simultaneously

• Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently to meet tight deadlines with little supervision

• Experience and exposure to subscription-based products and experience with Tel-com a plus but not required

• Great teaming and communication skills

• Must be available to travel from time to time
