**Function:** Operations Description:

**Summary:** Responsible for the domestic and international shipping process. Work with district sales managers, distributors, freight forwarders, customer service department, after sales, trade compliance, and shipping department throughout the entire shipping process. Ensure orders are shipped on schedule, hold freight forwarding providers to on time delivery, assure all domestic and international shipping documentation is complete, meet trade compliance requirements, and enable the efficient movement of goods.

# Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

+ Responsible for managing day-to-day freight handling.

+ Works closely with the Customer Service Representatives during all phases of the shipping process to customers.

+ Communicate regularly about shipping requirements to shipping associates.

+ Liaison with distributors and freight forwarders throughout shipping process to meet established deadlines, communicate shipping instructions, and any changes and communicates this information to district sales managers, shipping department, and customers.

+ Manage and prioritize the movement of orders on shipment schedule.

+ Work with Trade Compliance department to create, request, or send required documents for products to be in compliance with country of origin.

+ Manages commercial documents and all other documents as needed for the shipment which includes, but is not limited to: invoices, packing slips, shipper’s letter of instructions, letter of credit documents, and certificates of origin.

+ Use Trax to create shipments and use JDE to check commercial invoices.

+ Attend necessary meetings to understand shipping requirements for Project Orders.

+ Collects new data and maintains comprehensive historical data; analyzing all data and communicating to management relative information and recommendations that could impact future planning

+ Maintain an effective follow-up system for all open and active inquiries to ensure timely and conclusive response to the customer.

+ Identify, track and resolve issues.

+ Communicate with district sales manager to help resolve shipments issues.

+ Work on continuous improvement efforts to streamline shipping process including shipping documents, utilizing backlog data to help plan weekly shipments, work with IT to better utilize software for shipping, and identify best practices for freight forwarding.

+ Participate in Rapid Improvement Events to review and evaluate and optimize the shipping process.

+ Participate in technology changes that lead to process improvement and improved customer satisfaction.​

+ Participate in individual and group training

+ Assist in any special assignment delegated by the Manager of Customer Service or senior leadership.

# Requirements:

**Education/ Experience:**

+ BA/BS required. Preferably in Supply Chain Logistics, Business Administration, International Business, or relevant major.

+ One to five years of transportation and logistics experience.International experience preferred.

+ Certificates in Import/Export and Freight Forwarder system experience a plus.

+ Experience with JDE operating system preferredSpecific skills, knowledge, and/or licenses:

+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office software

+ Able to handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently

+ Knowledge of Import-Export guidelines.

+ Ability to work with others and be an active part of a cross functional team

+ Aptitude for developing sales rapport via telephone and e-mail contact with key customer personnel involved in shipping decisions

+ **Problem solving:** identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully
