Seeking a dynamic, professional Accountant who will be a key part of the Terminal Accounting Team. The Terminal Accounting Team is responsible for billing NGL, Refined, and Crude terminalling activities. The prospective employee will perform a combination of responsibilities including invoicing, revenue recognition analysis, volume analysis, inventory accounting, volumetric reconciliations, and supporting Terminal Operations as required.

The expectations, role and responsibilities for this job will include but are not limited to:

Terminal invoicing and volume analysis of complex terminalling contracts

Tracking product movement receipts, deliveries, and transfers at terminal facilities by way of trucks, pipelines, railcars, and vessels

Balancing unit production, loss, and yield on a daily basis and investigating any discrepancies.

Demonstrate an awareness in changes to the business to ensure the appropriate accounting and control processes are applied.

Communicate with customers about issues and resolve problems, interface with Business Development (BD) and Scheduling groups on regular basis and provide control functions for existing business.

Record journal entries and perform account reconciliations for specific accounts.

Revenue recognition and review of deferred revenue associated with minimum volume requirements.

Analyze operating trends and prepare monthly analysis.

Special projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Accounting

A minimum of 5 years’ experience accounting; terminal/inventory accounting experience a plus

General ledger experience and strong understanding of accounting principles.

Strong computer skills and systems knowledge; strong Excel skills and SAP experience a plus

Ability to interact with Management and Operations as it relates to accounting policies and processes

Position requires overnight travel typically once a quarter

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to interpret contracts and apply the necessary accounting and control practices
