At California Rehabilitation Institute our services have been designed for patients who need a longer rehabilitation hospitalization for their recovery. We are currently seeking a Lead Education Coordinator to join our team.

Job Summary

Lead Education Coordinator establishes educational programs aimed at clinical and non-clinical employee development, integrating new research findings and innovative clinical practices, credentials and competency of clinical staff, and the development of educational materials that may be marketable. Develops patient education strategies for implementation by all clinicians. Develops and coordinates outcome based staff education programs in collaboration with the various management teams.

Ensures success of department operations through building employee engagement, effective talent assessment, continual learning and development, cross-training

Identifies and initiates own professional growth through continued learning, self-study and involvement in professional activities and organizations.

Establishes methodologies and systems to support ongoing educational activities for different levels of employees in collaboration with the management team(s).

Plans, implements, administers and evaluates individual programs and conferences/courses directed at increasing staff knowledge, competency and credentials in support of individual job objectives and the overall goals and mission of the organization.

Integrates educational modules and creative educational approaches into the overall education and training plan to maximize staff participation and support learning needs.

Serves as a consultant and resource to the professional staff and departments in developing and implementing educational programs including appropriate competency testing for staff.

Develops educational curriculum and materials including computer based training modules.

Collaborates with leadership teams to gain understanding of program needs as well as share best practices via ongoing meetings and needs assessment.

Works in collaboration with team members to ensure coordination of all educational initiatives and activities to support the overall objectives and goals of the department(s)/organization.

Works to support the education tracking database to track staff education, competency and credentials and utilizes the data base to evaluate and plan for future educational activities and programs.

Ensures that patient and staff education activities meet accreditation standards.

Serves as Continuing Education Coordinator for all staff, maintaining all standards as required by respective agencies.

Establishes strategies for the Education Department including oversight of the scope of activities both live and online and calendar of events to meet organizational needs and program development.

Develops and presents motivational programs in collaboration with other educators in the department focused on the Vision and Mission of the Institute, customer service, communication, team building, etc.

Leads the development of innovative, blended learning programs that are modular and computer based, and develops strategies for effective implementation at the employee level.

Initiates and/or participate in research activities to support organizational goals.

Leads educational activities in support of regulatory agencies.

Ensures excellence in database management in conjunction with Human Resources to track staff education, competency, license, certification and credentials. Utilizes the database to evaluate, quantify and plan for future training activities and programs.

Participates on educational committees and works in collaboration with Senior Management and Human Resources to establish and assure coordination of management training programs for all levels of management in accordance with policies and procedures.

Annually assesses educational needs in collaboration with clinical departments, administrators, human resources, and clinical program committees and develops programs and strategies in accordance with those needs, the mission of the organizations, and strategic planning objectives.

Consistently demonstrates superior planning, organizational, presentation, writing, computer skills with attention to detail being essential in all work.

Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Current and valid state licensure in a therapy discipline required

Master’s Degree in health related field required

BLS Instructor Certified required

Three (3) to Five (5) years previous experience teaching health professionals or organizational trainer in health related industry working with professional staff preferred.
