Position Summary

We are looking for a Lead Digital Communications & Change Management

specialist to support the Enterprise Change Management function at

Duke Energy. This position will work closely with Human Resources (HR)

customers, in the near-term primarily Total Rewards (Retirement,

Health & Wellness, and Compensation) to execute internal communication

strategies, including establishing key audiences, stakeholders,

objectives, expected results, and metrics for success. The position is

responsible for increasing buy-in and adoption for programs launched

by Human Resources with a focus on traditional print and digital

channel strategy and content.


* Develop and implement change management plans for complex issues

* Recommend and drive innovative communication campaigns that drive

employee engagement using the most effective communication

vehicles, including but not limited to brochures, flyers,

postcards, newsletter articles, digital presentations, policy and

procedure communication materials, website content, portal content

and videos.

* Develop new ways to broaden the reach of company-related news and


* Conduct impact analysis and stakeholder assessments to build

engagement plans

* Work with cross-functional audiences, such as Legal, Centers of

Excellence, and Executives to gain buy-in

* Support the design, development, delivery and management of change

management and communication campaigns

* Collaborate with a graphics team to develop concepts

* Copy development and editing

* Ensure highest quality and accuracy of materials produced

* Lead meetings to drive strategies and deliverables toward


* Conduct assessments to evaluate campaign and change plan results

and develop actionable plans to address gaps or resistance

* Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress

* Create sustainability plans to track adoption, utilization and

proficiency of change efforts

* Integrate plans into the overall Human Resource

change/communications portfolio

Basic/Required Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree in Organizational Change, Journalism,

Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media or related

field of study with background in Corporate Communications and/or

Change Management

* 8 - 10 years of related work experience

Desired Qualifications

* Post-Bachelor s degree (ex. Organizational Psychology, MBA)

* Prosci Change Management Certification and/or five (5) years of

experience with change management methodology and frameworks

* Experience developing and implementing complex change management

and communications strategies and plans

* Knowledge of a variety of communication disciplines

* Strong writing, editorial, project management, change management

and client service skills

* Five (5) to seven (7) years copy editing skills

* Five (5) to seven (7) crafting communications through multiple


* Demonstrated experience working under pressure and managing

multiple projects, with commitment to meeting or exceeding

deadlines with strong attention to detail

* Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products,

particularly Microsoft PowerPoint and SharePoint

* Demonstrated skills in several of the following areas: graphic

design, design software, SharePoint design and content management,

video creation, GoAnimate video software, Prezi and print material


* Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills to work efficiently

and effectively with clients, teammates, and management

* Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and

accurately using written and verbal communications

* Well-organized with good follow-through, and able to interact

effectively with all levels of the organization

* Keen sensitivity to diverse target audiences and understanding of

how and when to adjust style to meet client and audience specific


* Ability to take initiative; is self-directed and results-oriented

* Collaboration with key stakeholders and strong problem-solving


* Ability to learn the operational, technical and compliance sides

of Human Resources (including Benefits and Total Rewards)

* Demonstrated ability to communicate a vision and obtain buy-in

* Demonstrated strong leadership skills: negotiation, conflict

management skills, influencing skills, ability to give and receive

position and constructive feedback

* Experience with Total Rewards
