# POSITION TITLE: _Key Account Manager_

# REPORTS TO: _Vice President of Sales_

# LOCATION: _OPEN_

# BASIC FUNCTION:

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for driving the sales strategy & revenue within their assigned accounts/assigned region. The KAM is responsible for executing account strategy according to Semrock commercial business processes (forecast in orders and sales), account strategy, business development, communications and reporting. The KAM is responsible for executing on their individual regional priorities as well as delivering exceptional customer engagement.

# ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Primary responsibility is to meet/exceed regional revenue plan in assigned territory.Revenue targets are combined OEM and market/application focused customers within their assigned area of responsibility.

+ Able to team effectively across IDEX Health & Sciences to support customers which require coordination beyond the local region.KAM utilizes tools like Key Account Plan and Executive Summary (Blue Sheet) to communicate opportunities, progress to plan objective and issues within their Key Accounts.

+ Assist in developing and implementing product specific growth strategies and initiatives within their territory as defined by Sales Leadership/Product Leadership.

+ Lead strategic engagement with customers on products, markets, customers and applications that align with Product Manager/Office of the CTO roadmaps.This includes supporting new product introduction (NPI) and Voice of customer (VOC) processes by teaming with product management & marketing to develop target customer list and deploy a campaign around NBO development.

+ KAM is responsible for effective utilization of factory resources to support customer programs/customer satisfaction and to drive new business opportunity (NBO) growth in their region at existing and new customers.This is done through effective qualifying of issues/opportunities locally, and by effective engagement throughout the opportunity development cycle.

+ Provide technical and selling expertise at target customers to “overserve” existing business and to deepen relationships with strategic customers which enable cross-platform sales, and which generates NBO results within these customer relationships

**Qualifications:**

# PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

+ Ability and experience in successfully delivering results through cross-functional teams (initiating project, communicating the timeline/deliverables, managing schedules, and driving internal commitments).

+ Successful experience calling on senior management at customers.

+ Superior written and verbal communication skills able to communicate at all levels of the organization.

+ Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural, global business environment.

+ Ability to travel 35-50% (domestic and international).

+ Excellent understanding of sales/account management processes and market knowledge.

+ Proven strategic problem solving expertise.

# EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Account Management experience (OEM sales) preferred

BS/MS/PhD in engineering or related discipline

Strong knowledge of Fluorescence, Microscopy, Optical Imaging Systems and Spectroscopy highly desired.

# CORPORATE TRAINING:

Environmental Health & Safety, Code of Conduct, Anti-Harassment and others will be required.

**Reporting and Location:** This position reports to the Vice President of Sales.
