Responsible for planning and management of inventory and inventory strategies. Uses technical expertise to support the identification and development of critical spares that support maintenance work planning. Updates the customer on inventory policy and strategy. Responsible for maintaining stock inventory and inventory master records.
Evaluates new stock items, analyzes inventory position, and evaluates procurement processes to implement improvements in inventory. Impacts customer service level and bottom-line commercial availability by maintaining material masters that provide correct inventory descriptions and relations to a Bill of Material.
Performs evaluation of asset components and systems to establish critical spares that support plant reliability. Utilizes knowledge of asset and components to evaluate the failure mode or characteristics (i.e., predictable, gradual, or sudden), component service life, and effects on asset reliability or asset safety if unavailable, or other critical characteristics when determining safety stock for items identified as critical components. Utilizes knowledge of critical component market availability, repair characteristics, lead time of repairs or new materials, and potential substitutions to determine safety stock on critical spares.
Evaluates inventory levels that optimize the inventory and support Business Unit service level goals. Processes requests for new stock and establishes Material Requirements Planning (MRP) parameters, and creates or maintains catalog descriptions for suppliers, or other utilities to achieve optimum stocking. Manages inventory to ensure assets are properly controlled and reported. Utilizes life-cycle cost modeling for inventory management decision making. Develops standardized and continuous improvement processes across organization. Establishes Material Requirements Planning (MRP) parameters.
Utilizes knowledge of plant design or equipment changes and/or supplier notifications to identify obsolete and surplus inventory. Once identified as obsolete, coordinates notification and approval to dispose of material with plant subject matter experts and financial controls to properly identify, track, and disposition material.
Compiles, calculates, and interprets data and issues reports using various computer databases. Identifies and develops probable or root cause and corrective actions of material problems.
Works with material users and others to train and educate them in material management theory and techniques.
Develops the preventive maintenance and shelf life requirements for long term storage on inventory.
Provides assistance to analyze unused stock and non-stock material from completed work to determine best option to return or disposition material.
Performs all duties in accordance with DTE's safety rules, operating regulations and practices, and reports unsafe conditions and practices.
Interfaces with plant and Supply Chain Management personnel to ensure material availability is managed and communicated, including attendance at meetings.
Leads, presents and reports out weekly at the Site Inventory Review Committee (SIRC) meeting.
Performs on-call duties monthly and responds to plant priorities.
Lead representative for Fermi on all RAPID sales (on-line market place with other Nuclear stations).','!*!Education, Experience and Competencies
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience in warehousing and materials and logistics,
Associates Degree in Engineering, or related field and seven (7) years of experience in warehousing and materials and logistics,
High school diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in warehousing and materials and logistics.
Must have a demonstrated understanding of inventory control methods, inventory optimization strategies, and the ability to incorporate that understanding into working methods.
Demonstrated knowledge of rotation equipment, power transmission equipment, and electrical components normally found in a power plant, electrical distribution equipment and/or gas transmission equipment is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of material management systems and work control systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of PC applications including Excel and Word, with SAP and Maximo knowledge preferred.
Knowledge of environmental, nuclear, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, as demonstrated by successfully developing and presenting written analyses and presentations to all levels of management; educating and clearly communicating with business unit partners, customers and suppliers; facilitating diverse groups to consensus and receiving positive feedback from the partner business units.
Effective verbal and written communication with plant and site Senior Leadership.
Excellent computer skills, as demonstrated by independently completing various data analyses, pulling data from various databases and performing requested analyses.
Effectively manages workload level, as demonstrated by consistent positive business unit partner and warehouse feedback, little rework, meeting deadlines, taking on additional work, working independently on routine tasks, and effectively prioritizing tasks to meet business needs.
Demonstrated application of continuous improvement tools, systems and processes: Yellow / Green / Black Belt preferred.
Provide support to the Plant by performing on-call duties as scheduled.
Provide support to the Plant by performing Radiological emergency Response duties.
Provide support to plant by performing alternate work schedules during Plant outages.
Must successfully complete all elements of background investigation for unescorted accesses to the Enrico Fermi Nuclear Power Plant; and maintain eligibility for continued unescorted access, including random Drug Testing.
