Summary of Position:

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist role is a member of the Indirect Supply Management team at Medtronic. This individual will be responsible for supporting strategic sourcing activities in response to defined category strategies and operational needs. He or she will work with key Supply Management and business leaders to support strategic sourcing strategies and coordinate sourcing projects in response to business priorities.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

•Supporting efforts to measure reductions in year over year total cost of ownership for indirect goods and/or services being sourced without compromising current quality and/or service levels.

•Fostering and supporting relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

•Maintaining and supporting sourcing strategies aligned with global category strategies.

•Building expertise in both the area of spend analytics and in strategic sourcing support processes.

•Developing industry knowledge for contributions within the Category management team for the development of Category Strategies

•Supporting supplier discovery, supplier qualification, RFP, supplier selection, contract development, implementation and (if applicable) the ongoing supply base management process as it pertains to indirect goods services.

•Providing external industry benchmarking to better assess strategy and solutions

•Assisting in tracking compliance to internal policies impacting Supply Management.

•Providing data analytics for a variety of internal Supply Management stakeholders.

Requirements:

- MBA candidate with concentration in Supply Chain focusing on Supply Management or Procurement.

- Previous experience a plus, but not required

- Multi-lingual capabilities desirable, but not required

THIS IS A ROLLING 6 MONTH CO-OP POSITION. THE DURATION OF THIS POSITION IS FROM JANUARY, 2018 TRHOUGH JUNE 2018.
