Insurance Fund Product Management Specialist

Job Description:

This role supports the onboarding of mutual funds and hedge funds for use within individual life insurance products and as the point of contact for the fund companies.  This role also supports the developing and filing of prospectuses and related supplements for variable life insurance products with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for new products, enhancements to existing products, and annual product filings. The prospectus fully explains how the product and features work. 

The successful candidate would coordinate, review and negotiate the documents required to onboard new funds and review materials related to funds including, proxies, prospectuses, marketing material, presentation on the web site, and development of change requests, contract specification pages related to the funds and fund related requests. Other fund related interaction would include quarterly compliance work, presentations at the investment committees, and validation of fund fact sheets.

During peak periods for prospectus, assist in stages of the analysis, research, development, automated filing and the

accuracy of a detailed prospectus and related documents. The scope of this part of the role also supports coordination with business, operations, actuarial, and legal areas for agreement that prospectuses and related documents are complete and accurate.    

Additional responsibilities may include special projects, business as usual type projects and support for contract filings. Some overtime may be necessary in January through April for annual prospectus filings, and occasionally during the rest of the year based on project volume or scale.  Candidates outside commuting distance to Newark will not be required to relocate. There is minimal travel for those located in Newark.

Technically oriented with a proficiency in MS Word, Excel (including pivot tables) Power Point, and Adobe Pro software.

Very strong analytical and research skills.

Very good verbal and written communication skills are required.

Strong interpersonal skills will be needed to develop and maintain working relationships with people of widely varying levels, backgrounds, and skills both inside and outside of the firm.

Results oriented with project planning experience.

Ability to work independently and with management to define, plan and manage complex projects.

Knowledge of mutual fund operations and/or variable life insurance would be a significant plus.

Experience with at least one of the following would be helpful: Mutual fund/ Hedge fund fundamentals, SEC filings, variable product law, regulatory or compliance expertise.
