Technology never stops evolving. Part of the engEDU educational team, Instructional Designers know what our engineers need to know and how to teach it. Using human learning principles, you develop Google's training programs by assessing Googler needs, designing curriculum and coordinating rollout to stakeholders all over the world. You evaluate training opportunities, participant satisfaction and program stability to make sure that Google's technical development programs are teaching skills that are truly valuable while reaching as many Googlers as possible. From face-to-face instruction to collaborative webinars, training programs can take any form and need to translate for Googlers of all backgrounds, levels and regions.

You design training courses based on human learning principles and the needs of stakeholders.

In this role, you will partner with stakeholders to deliver engineering education for company-wide initiatives. You'll also establish and maintain relationships with partners, identify needs, and manage multiple sources of content.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers to develop and organize training materials.

Identify learning and performance objectives to design scalable learning solutions.

Develop facilitator guides, content and evaluation strategies.

Interpret evaluation data and suggest improvements based on feedback.

Propose innovative learning solutions to solve organizational needs and advocate for the student experience.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

5 years of experience in designing, developing and delivering learning/training content using multiple media platforms.

Experience in project management.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology or a related discipline.

Experience with technical topics or environments (e.g. programming, networking, front-end development, etc).

Knowledge of how a large-scale production deployment environment works (e.g. Google Cloud Platform or similar).

Knowledge of learning format options and associated trade-offs.

Familiarity in working with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
