The Vernon, CA Flour Mill is a 40-person union manufacturing site servicing our Convenience & Foodservice business. Vernon is a small industrial area with a population of 112 residents. Although small, it is located within Los Angeles County which has a population of 10 million people. The mill is less than 45 minutes from numerous attractions including beautiful beaches, museums, Hollywood and Disneyland. Great day or overnight trips are just a drive away including Santa Barbara, San Diego, Las Vegas, Mammoth Mountain, and Joshua Tree National Park.
 
The HR Coordinator is responsible for leading the deployment of key HR initiatives and candidates should have considerable knowledge of General Mills Human Resource principles and practices, including but not limited to Talent Management, Compensation, Learning & Development, Data Insights and Project Management.
 
Accountabilities:
 
Annual Process Management (40%):

Lead communication, project coordination and calibration support for talent reviews, annual performance and rewards, and performance management process partnering with HR Region and Function Business Partners, HR Operations and Center of Excellence teams
Partner closely with plant leadership in facilitation of key projects and initiatives
Support the learning needs of the plant by coordinating training and tracking qualifications of the operator groups.

Data Insights (20%):

Partner with analytics team to leverage data scorecards and reports to enable insights and identify trends (turnover, exit interview trends, promotions, diversity, etc.), as well as support workforce planning efforts
Maintain & track key talent metrics across all functions within location

Business Partner and Project Responsibilities (40%):

HR Business Partner for functional client groups
Project lead for change management initiatives
Partner with HR Manager and leadership in strategy development & execution
Special projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in ANY major
3 years of experience required, 5 years preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills 
Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy 
Strong customer service focus
Strong technical skills with proficiency in Microsoft based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access), Visio, and SharePoint; with a willingness to learn and master other software programs as needed 
Ability to drive results in a highly ambiguous and constantly changing environment 
Strong analytical, quantitative and critical thinking skills \u2013 ability to prepare and analyze HR reports, translate data into recommendations and take appropriate action to achieve desired business results 
Ability to lead and manage projects independently
