We are looking for a Healthcare Analytics leader to join our Consumer Health Products team.

The

Health Outcomes Analytics Manager

will play a critical role in the development of Aetna’s next-generation consumer-facing products by leading the strategy and process to holistically measure impact on our members’ health. This includes evaluating potential features and initiatives, measuring performance and driving continuous improvement.

Aetna Consumer Health & Services (CH&S)

is a newly formed division of Aetna with the ambition to build the leading health services franchise in the world, based on cutting edge analytics to influence consumer and provider behavior, resulting in improved health and more efficient resource utilization.

Aetna’s Consumer Health Products Group (CHP)

, within CH&S, comprises over 1,800 employees from Aetna Digital, Aetna One Advocate, bswift, and PayFlex who are deeply committed to delivering capabilities that seamlessly integrate to transform the member experience.

Fundamental Components:

Drives the overall design or methodology of tactical and strategic solutions that satisfy healthcare information needs across products

Provides thought leadership and recommendations for analytic solutions, metric definitions, studies, methodologies and tools

Designs and conducts analyses and outcome studies using healthcare claims, pharmacy and lab data, employing appropriate research designs and statistical methods

Creates and evaluates the data needs of assigned projects and assures the integrity of the data

Supports sound business decisions based on data, results and information derived from industry trends, research findings, and Aetna-specific reports and analyses

Anticipates and recognizes matters that effect ability to create valid measures, reports and analyses and take appropriate action to reduce bias

Develops analytical solutions demonstrating cost containment and quality initiatives

Presents analytic reports to clients and stakeholders

Stays informed about industry trends, research findings, and evaluation methods.

Proactively builds and maintains internal and external key relationships.

Manages personal resources and cross-functional projects and customer expectations to achieve constituent satisfaction

Responsible for team commitments to quality and on-time deliverables.

Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple projects concurrently

Motivates, understands, and probes into technical details

Background/Experience Desired

7 or more years of healthcare industry analytic experience

Strong problem solving, analytical, and project management skills.

Health care analysis, health economics, epidemiology, or health services research experience

Experience performing analyses to support healthcare quality improvement initiatives a plus

Demonstrated extensive and diverse knowledge of health care data, metrics, systems and standards; demonstrated subject matter expert in multiple subject areas.

Deep knowledge of health care industry, policy, research design, univariate and multivariate statistical analyses, predictive modeling, case-mix and risk adjustment methods and tools

Well-versed in statistical model building and concepts, decision trees and classification rules, segmentation and cluster analysis.

Able to make sound decisions and recommendations to drive business solutions.

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and negotiate across the business and in the external health care environment.

Ability to communicate statistical and technical ideas and results to non-technical clients in written and verbal form.

Strong leadership experience, collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of management and staff.

Ability to perform and manage multiple activities and changing priorities.

Experience in working in a data warehouse environment as well as the ability to work with large data sets from multiple data sources.

Advanced SQL and/or SAS programming abilities in data warehouse or big data analytics environment, including use of statistical analysis techniques or business intelligence application development.

Strong reporting skills using Excel, Access, Word and/or PowerPoint.

Ability to evaluate/recommend the use of other reporting platforms to solve constituent needs: Business Objects, Microsoft Access, web development technology, big data analytics, data mining, Visual Basic.

Understanding of relational databases, data systems and data warehouses.

Education and Certification Requirements

Master's degree in relevant field with healthcare analytic experience; or

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field with extensive healthcare analytic experience
