Transportation Systems is the true pioneer of automotive turbocharging dating back more than 60 years, and continues today as the world's leader in turbo technology solutions and an experienced supplier of electric boosting products and automotive software to support passenger cars, commercial vehicles and off-highway equipment. With a worldwide footprint of engineering centers, testing labs and manufacturing facilities, Transportation Systems serves all major automotive companies to implement key differentiated technology offerings.

As a testimony to its success, in 2018 Honeywell will be spinning off the Transportation Systems business into a stand-alone, publicly traded company. Being a stand-alone company will provide Transportation Systems the independence, focus, direct financial resources, and flexibility required to adapt quickly to market and customer dynamics, and we want you to be part of its evolution. Deploy effective Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems and maintain regulatory compliance to improve the overall HSE culture within the business. You will have overall responsibility for the Health & Safety of all employees of, visitors and contractors to the Transportation Systems facilities on the Torrance site and for ensuring compliance with all relevant US HSE legislation and Corporate policy. You will actively participate as a valued member of the operations teams to provide HSE leadership, guidance and technical support. You will maintain the education & awareness of the workforce in relation to HSE topics.

Drive HSE culture to all levels of the Torrance site

Actively support business growth initiatives with HSE process development for the rapid growth and breakthrough future technologies of Transportation Systems R&D

Partner with leaders to continuously improve HSE culture, processes, awareness and accountability systems

40 Coordinates successful implementation of HSE processes

30 Continuously improves HSE culture & processes

20 Ensures compliance with legislation & corporate policy

10 Supports incident investigation & corrective actions


Bachelor degree in health, safety, environment, industrial hygiene


Significant experience in health, safety and environment with progressively increasing responsibility

Knowledge of, and experience with, US and California Legislation

Strong bias for action and ability to lead, motivate and influence others to achieve

Mature judgment and decision-making ability, with strategic and tactical HSE experience

Greenbelt certification desired

Recognized certification in safety, health, or environmental field a plus

Specific experience with ISO and certifications systems in HSE

Effectively demonstrates ability to deliver on complex situations or problems without guidance or supervision

Quickly and accurately identifies even subtle interrelationships and patterns among a variety of problems and issues

Ability to communicate with and implement various HSE processes at all levels of the organization
