HR Specialist – Global Compensation, Benefits & Policy – U.S.Retirement Plans

Responsible for the strategydevelopment, analysis, and assessment of the GM Pension, Savings, and ProfitSharing Plans.

Responsibilities:

Analysis of Plan data and recommendation of future strategicinitiatives for financial wellness and retirement readiness

Strategic Plan benchmarking including AonHewitt Benefit Index,TAPF, and DB/DC studies

Support the development of the annual Total Compensation andBenefit Plan from design and recommendation through communications andimplementation

Support the development of Plan Language and recommends updates toexisting Plan provisions, including working with Global Business Services (GBS)and third party administrators on benefit design, implementation,communication, and delivery

Analyze proposed and current legislative and regulatory changes (PBGC,DOL, ERISA) and recommend Plan strategies as appropriate

Assess “best practices” in the marketplace and recommend newtechnology or tools to facilitate employee engagement in personal financialmanagement

Evaluate and make recommendations for new technology (i.e. mobileapplications for retirement readiness) and research state of the artretirement/financial planning products

Review and analyze annual Pension Valuation Census Data Report forsupport of Plan Administrator certification process

Support Plan Administrator for certain Close Management Systemtasks

Support GBS and COE with investigation of Plan provisions andassists with resolutions, as necessary

Review updates to Summary Plan Descriptions

Support GBS and COE with annual projects (i.e. Valuation andAnnual Funding Notices), including communication of same

Support Pension and Savings Plan audits, internal and external

Support development of strategic retirement and savings projects

Seek opportunities for improvement in Plan design and benefitstrategic direction (i.e. Financial Wellness, Retirement Readiness, SavingsRates, Auto Escalation)

Support GBS and COE with development of training andcommunications materials, including Benefits Conference, Union Benefit Rep andSalaried Materials

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business or similardegree

7 years experience in U.S. retirement plans, specifically definedbenefit plans

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in teams aswell as independently

Excellent communication and presentation skills (written &verbal)

Strong organizational and project planning skills

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.

Strong analytical skills

Preferred:

Prior people management experience preferred
