Job title: HR Data Analyst


General Summary: The HR Data Analyst will provide guidance and data analysis in support of all HR functions. This includes providing recommendations for the overall design and development of HR analytical tools and dashboards and conducting research to remain current on industry trends. In addition, this position will play a critical role in the HR Systems team to facilitate and continuously streamline/automate HR transactional business processes. This position will support the overall HR analytics strategy and initiatives..


Reports to: Supervisor, HR Systems


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


*Ability to monitor and improve data collection, reporting procedures and other processes to drive efficiency and enhance quality. *Work with team to manage maintenance and accuracy of employee data, for reporting and distribution, including review of data input and output. *Implementation or modification of HR Systems solutions including a deep understanding of core HR data structure. *Assess, develop and evaluate HR metrics by translating loosely defined business information into data specifications and requirements that assist HR leadership in making fact-based decisions. Develop scorecards for HR leadership and provide meaningful insights and trends on key metrics in support of HR initiatives. *Complete monthly, quarterly and adhoc HR reporting and data analysis, including data interpretation to provide value added analysis. *Partner with IT to obtain and utilize data from timekeeping and other systems *Conduct data analysis and discovery to identify trends and correlations to uncover insights. Recommends information that should be analyzed based on key indicators, works to determine root cause and/or identify specific areas of concern. *Develop or enhance model and key data sets needed for predictive and prescriptive analytics for HR focus areas (examples: turnover, recruiting, performance management, workforce planning). *Communicate key information effectively to both management and internal customers. *Maintain, implement and develop business processes documentation, business processes, user procedures, training materials and guidelines.


Required Skills and Competencies:


*Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment *Strong attention to detail, analytical acumen, intellectual curiosity, creativity *Demonstrate a willingness to learn and work hands-on with statistical and data mining techniques, technologies, processes, and partners *Ability to pull data from different sources (ADP Reporter, Access databases, Excel, etc.) and link them logically; know how to deal with the inherent structure of the data *Proficient in MS Excel (graphing, pivot tables, data manipulation, formulas, etc.) *Ability to thrive in a highly quantitative, fast-paced environment with changing business needs *High degree of initiative, personal responsibility and ownership *Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills *Excellent communication (written and oral) skills *Proficient working knowledge of general HR



*1 - 3 years of experience with HR systems

HR reporting and data experience *

Experience using data visualization tools

*Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite - Outlook, Excel, Access, Word PowerPoint



Experience in the retail industry



BA/BS in HR, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, IT or related field or equivalent work experience
