Additional information is available at: About this job: The Graphic Designer develops artwork for multiple home products to support the Direct Imports division. Collaborates with Merchants to understand product artwork needs and trends. Works independently to select and translate trend-right artwork. Collaborates with external partners, including agencies and overseas vendors to ensure successful execution of artwork concepts. Essential Functions: Resources and manages multiple projects simultaneously. Works with Buyers and Project Management to adhere to timeframe and cost guidelines Collaborates with Buyers on artwork development according to brief Evaluates feasibility of design ideas and develops on-target artwork solutions for each product category Selects and manipulates stock artwork that can be applied to and manipulated across multiple product categories Reworks, re-colors or tweaks existing artwork as needed Prepares artwork for production based on product type and according to vendor guidelines Ensures that artwork is on-target, attractive, cost effective Provides design guidance, consumer\/marketing trends and brings ideas for new design opportunities or extensions Artwork Management: Understands Direct Imports product lifecycles, contributes to the creation of an artwork development calendar and cadence Creates protocol for artwork file set up and communication with agents and vendors Tracks all product design projects; records receipt of samples and completion of projects Assists in search, review and purchase of artwork for the Direct Imports division Oversees central artwork library, creates and maintains file management protocol Communication & Collaboration: Collaborates with Buyers to understand artwork requirements and needs; asks necessary questions to ensure alignment on brief Works with counterparts at agents\/vendors to create best practices for artwork communication and execution Directs corrective actions with agents and vendors to resolve artwork issues and ensure on-target, on-time execution Desired Skills and Qualifications:\u3000 Technical\/Functional Design Skills Attention to Detail Communication\/Listening\/Collaboration Adaptability Decision Making\/Problem Solving Interpersonal Quality Planning & Organizing Results Orientation, Initiative Bachelor's degree in Surface Pattern Design, Graphic Design, or related field Minimum 5 years of direct experience at a large retail or wholesale company, home goods (hard and soft) experience a plus Highly proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator , InDesign and CAD Proficient in Microsoft Excel Proven track record of producing high volumes of on-target artwork according to deadline
