Summary of Responsibilities

As the project manager, your job is to plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of the identified strategic Engineered Materials innovation projects. As project manager, you work closely with upper management to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule, meeting the timing of the various project milestones, as well as other departments for assuring the support needed to be successful. The project manager will be reporting to the Strategic Business Development Manager.

 

What You Will Do

*Define business results expected from each project where results are expressed in terms of quality; time; scope and cost.  *Single person responsible for and accountable for the achievement of project tasks and objectives. *Identify resource requirements; cost/time schedules.  Develop project plans.  Develop implementation plan; conduct project risk assessments; and develop contingency plans to allow for and accommodate unforeseen events and changes in strategy for multiple projects or strategies. *Translates the business needs of senior management into project goals. *Leads the matrix project team in the overall project planning and execution, balancing scope, schedule and budget. *Develops project funding needs including required resources *Evaluate risk/reward trade-offs.  Communicates timely and effectively about risks that could impact project objectives and deliverables.  Works to resolve project risks. *Establish strong operating mechanisms to track progress, identify issues and risk, overcome obstacles, and define recovery plans. *Negotiate with resource managers; resolve identified resource limitations. Demonstrates independent decision making. *Chairs and coordinates the communication of the project status to key stakeholders. *Perform any other duties as assigned, as the organization and business evolves

 

What You Will Need

*Bachelors of Science degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, biology or a related technical field *Minimum 7+ years relevant experience in project leadership for large complex projects *Minimum 5+ year experience working within a matrix organization *Ability to travel 25% of the time, domestically and internationally *Ability to develop good working relationships with all functions across all global business units *Excellent verbal and written communication skills
