Global Industrial Engineering Manager

We are looking for a highly talented individual to lead Industrial Engineering for our Global Manufacturing Enterprise. The ideal candidate will have the expertise and drive to lead development, implementation and application of standard systems, tools & technology and processes across the entire range of industrial engineering disciplines in order to ensure Operational Excellence and Customer Service Excellence.

The Global Industrial Engineering Manager serves as the Global Functional Manager for Industrial Engineering in Plexus' Manufacturing Solutions Business Unit, encompassing sites in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Malaysia and China. Technical core functional areas of responsibility include Ergonomics, Time Standard Models, Capacity Planning, and Layout / Flow Models. Additionally, this individual will define a global strategy and drive implementation in a multi-cultural environment to achieve the strategy's goals.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and deploy an Industrial Engineering strategy to deliver Customer Service Excellence and Operational Excellence. Communicate the strategy to ensure alignment and unity of purpose across all of Manufacturing Solutions.

Drive strategy execution; establish and monitor metrics to assess effectiveness. Develop and maintain a Community of Practice (CoP) at the global, regional and site levels. Leverage the CoP to develop and effectively execute the strategy.

Use the CoP to obtain stakeholder input on various issues and as a conduit to implement initiatives, standard work and functional management responsibilities at the regional and local levels Build flexible time-standard, costing, and operational models that enable clear measures of productivity, optimized ergonomics and minimization of non-value added activities. Deliver a standardized approach for Industrial Engineering. Provide policy and guidance to ensure Industrial Engineering delivers operational excellence as a foundation to delivering customer service excellence while growing Plexus' profitable revenue.

Develop and deploy standard practices and tools for the conduct of Industrial Engineering. Drive alignment of Industrial Engineering practices across regions. Ensure best practices are shared and adopted across regions.

Articulate a guiding vision to create a strong global Industrial Engineering team. Provide overarching policy and guidance for professional and technical development of Industrial Engineers. Collaborate with Training and Development experts to define training and education needs; ensure training is created and delivered.

Additional Responsibilities: Present the Plexus' manufacturing capabilities and roadmaps to customers in a marketable manner. Perform periodic performance reviews and work load analysis to assure adequate staffing, and provide appropriate resources to support expected job performance.

Interface with site, regional and corporate engineering leadership to ensure appropriate alignment of global objectives and development of talent. Establish software integration strategies and implementation plans to increase productivity and reduce the manufacturing escapes. Direct Plexus' involvement and activities in manufacturing technology industry standards groups and consortia.

Manage resourcing for site and customer escalations for manufacturing costing issues. Establish operational, technology and system strategies related to manufacturing processes. Occasional travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 15%) Education/Experience:

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience is required for this position; a master's degree in engineering is preferred. Experience of 7 years is required for this position; assuming education requirements are met. Equivalent industry experience of 10 or more years is highly desirable.

Detailed knowledge of ergonomics principals through training and/or hands on experience is necessary for success in this role. Extensive understanding of manufacturing flow and lean manufacturing principles is required. SDL2017
