Summary: Monitors, estimates, analyses and reports on CenterPoint Energy\u2019s gas distribution system. Reporting includes gas measurement, billing and Lost & Unaccounted For Gas (LUFG). Essential Duties/Responsibilities: \u00b7 Collects and monitors electronic flow measurement data from transportation customers and town border stations. \u00b7 Monitors and resolves daily and monthly data exception reports on electronic data collection units. \u00b7 Provides assistance and direction to field technicians in troubleshooting data collection equipment (telephone, modem, instrumentation, etc.) \u00b7 Provides resources for calculating and interpreting gas constituents and heating value. \u00b7 Provides standard configuration and setup of electronic instruments. \u00b7 Provides ready resource to field technicians on instrument setup and configurations. \u00b7 Evaluates gas capacity and gas usage. \u00b7 Provides support for LUFG reporting and data gathering. \u00b7 Generates and maintains curtailment reporting lists and priority documentation. \u00b7 Works closely with Gas Supply Department to ensure that adequate supplies are purchased to serve all of gas distributions needs on all pipelines. \u00b7 Coordinates the reception of city gate volume data via hard copy volume statements for input to LUFG and reviews same for abnormal flow characteristics. \u00b7 Provides volume statements and gas measurement data to Gas Supply Department, CCS billing, third parties, and end-users. \u00b7 Resolves questions from third parties and end-users and provides volume calculation backup for data and estimates. \u00b7 Sets up electronic flow meters for transportation customers in coordination with Marketing, Gas Supply, and CCS Billing representatives. \u00b7 Represents CNP in volumetric settlements and disputes. \u00b7 Provides daily and monthly reports on gas measurement operations. \u00b7 Gathers field documentation on measurement activities and tracks testing status as required. \u00b7 Provides guidance and maintains consistency in billing devices. \u00b7 Audits third party gas volumes for appropriateness and compares receipts to system deliveries for maintaining LUFG. \u00b7 Collects and reviews gas analysis for proper gas quality, heating value (BTU), and contract performance requirements. \u00b7 Maintains and modifies supporting data programs use in collection of field data, data retrieval, compilation, and reporting. \u00b7 Provides data record management for gas volume administration and audit requests. \u00b7 Other duties as may be assigned.Education: Requires a bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited college or university OR a combination of education or experience providing equivalent knowledge, where 2 years of applicable work experience in accounting, gas operations, field, or technical services, preferably in the gas control, measurement, and/or an analytical area could be substituted for one (1) year of college. Education requirement is in addition to experience. Experience: \u00b7 Level I - No additional experienced required. \u00b7 Level II - Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, gas operations, field, or technical services, preferably in the gas control, measurement, and/or an analytical area. Physical Requirements: \u00b7 Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. \u00b7 Able to demonstrate and apply manual dexterity to operate a computer. \u00b7 Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop. \u00b7 Able to view a personal computer monitor or laptop screen for extended periods of time. \u00b7 Able to operate office machines including telephone, photocopier, fax machine, calculator, laptop, mobile phone, etc. Working Conditions: \u00b7 Able to work with moderate daily pressure to meet deadlines. \u00b7 Able to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office or private office. \u00b7 Able to adapt easily to changing work schedules. \u00b7 Able to work a varied schedule to complete projects and meet deadlines in response to changing demands. \u00b7 May be required to remain in the service area during emergency events and assume responsibilities assigned by the company to aide in restoration efforts.
