Role: Front Desk- Patient Care Representative

Assignment: Partners in Primary Care III

Location: Kansas City/Raytown

Humana is seeking a Patient Care Representative As a Patient Care Reprehensive you will provide a wide variety of administrative and operational support services for an assigned area of responsibility to ensure that patients and other visitors have a pleasant, satisfying, and courteous experience with the Medical Center (via telephone and in person)

Duties and Responsibilities may include:

Greets patients and visitors and directs them accordingly.

Obtains authorization as needed to process patients for services needed.

Admits patients into system or manually in accordance with client company protocols.

Explains all required paperwork and forms to patients and ensures proper completion of all paperwork.

Answers incoming telephone lines in accordance with company procedures and directs the caller accordingly.

Checks out patients either via system or manually according to procedure and distributes records according to the Employer’s protocols.

Files paperwork, medical records and correspondence according to defined company procedure.

Follows HIPAA guidelines and safety rules as outlined in training received.

Collects co-pays; ensures daily cash and credit reconciliation

Ability to perform bank deposits

Ability to lead clinic while manager is not present

Creates a professional and supportive environment

Provides a positive moral for the care team and members

Provides oversight and reinforcement of PIPC workflows and policies

Ability to be able to learn Medicare Advantage insurance types and differences

Ability to problem solve when needed

Demonstrates excellent communication skills both verbally and written

ROLE ESSENTIALS – requirements                                                                          

High School graduate or equivalent

Basic knowledge and understanding of computer skills

Basic experience with Microsoft Office

Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills

This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana’s Tuberculosis screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB

ROLE DESIRABLES- preferred

Experience with insurance, data entry, and patient registration  

Experience as Medical assistant

Experience with E-Clinical Works or EMRs

One year of experience in a medical office environment
