The Flight Mechanic is responsible for performing pre-flight, post-flight  and in-flight inspections, adjustments and minor repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation of aircraft.


Must be comfortable exercising the full privilege of A&P license.

Inspects aircraft prior to takeoff for defects, like fuel or oil leaks malfunctions in electrical, hydraulic, or pressurization systems, according to preflight checklist.

Verifies passenger & cargo distribution and amount of fuel to make sure that weight balance specifications are met.

Monitors control panel to verify aircraft performance

Makes inflight repairs, like replacing fuses, adjusting instruments, and freeing jammed flight control cables, using handtools, or takes emergency measures to compensate for failure of equipment, like autopilot, wing heaters, and electrical hydraulic systems.

Monitors fuel gauges computes rate of fuel consumption.

Keeps log of fuel consumption engine performance.

Records malfunctions which were not corrected during flight reports needed repairs to ground maintenance personnel.

May perform repairs upon completion of flight.

All other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Must have a minimum of three years' related experience.

Must have an A&P License.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Active Security Clearance a plus
