A production operator is responsible for the accurate and timely manufacture of batches and finished products. The operator is expected to accurately measure all required materials, correctly add, and effectively operate all pressure kettles and mix tanks, including, but not limited to: scales, pumps, tanks and other manufacturing equipment according to training/SOP protocols. The operator is expected to maintain a safe and sanitary work area by ensuring the department and all equipment are cleaned and kept in good working order. Operator will package and filter finished goods and replenish raw material inventory as necessary. Operator will also be responsible for chemical blending including manual dispensing of all flavor chemicals and combining with automatically dispensed materials.

Key responsibilities include:

Compound as required by production demand by following shop floor precisely as instructed to do so by shop floor papers

Responsible for safe operation of fork lift and all material handling equipment within the work area

Maintain a safe working environment, utilize appropriate safety equipment and proactively improve the safety culture of the department

Maintain processing area and equipment in a clean, sanitary and presentable condition; adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and exemplary housekeeping standards

Ability and willingness to work as part of a team to solve problems, develop procedures, and recommend improvements

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

Basic math, reading and computer skills

English fluency

Capable of wearing full-face respirator when required for handling of specific materials

Ability to lift 50 lbs. without difficulty

Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, effectively working with other members of the department

SAP, Camelot and Marco experience preferred

Ability to multi-task, learn quickly and highlight process improvements

Must be able to work any shift, and be able to work on weekends when needed

Ability to weigh ingredients accurately utilizing tools such as floor scale and flow meter

Ability to operate forklift preferred

Required Experience

High School diploma or GED required

Prior chemical process manufacturing experience preferred
