Fixed Income Analyst - PM Fort Washington Investment Advisors, Inc. has an immediate opportunity for a Fixed Income Analyst.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Fixed Income Analyst works closely with the Fixed Income Portfolio Managers to enhance the portfolio management process via the development and maintenance of various databases, financial models and information systems. The Fixed Income Analyst interfaces with the accounting, systems, actuarial and marketing functions to facilitate the flow of information between all areas. The incumbent is exposed to all facets of the fixed income portfolio management process, including portfolio structuring, trading, risk management and reporting. This experience should provide the fundamentals for advancement into research or portfolio management. Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for making an established range of decisions, escalating to manager when necessary and updating manager on a regular basis.

Position Responsibilities:

Develops and maintains databases, financial models and reporting systems to enhance the portfolio management process.

Assists with the implementation and use of portfolio management systems.

Assists in the development and maintenance of the risk management process.

Assists in the construction, management and monitoring of fixed income portfolios.

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Selection Criteria:

Demonstrated strong interest in the fixed income asset management business with a focus on structured securities. Experience with asset-backed securities is desired.

Proven strong quantitative and analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying, defining and resolving complex problems, and collecting or intepreting data to establish facts and draw valid conclusions to provide effective resolutions. Proven experience with sound decision-making skills when dealing with multiple alternatives. Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and apply new methodologies.

Possesses and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, accurate, focused and concise manner and presentation style. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of staff and management. Demonstrated ability to prepare correspondence and reports in a manner that is understandable to others and prepared using a prescribed format. Verbal and written communications are to conform to proper rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style.

Proven experience coordinating multiple projects/assignments simultaneously and completing assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis. Must demonstrate strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Excellent organization and time management methods used to manage or prioritize workload demands is essential. Proven experience in project management including planning, executing and maintaining a project from start to finish.

Experience and ability to work independently including identifying and resolving problems where independent decision-making and initiative are required. Experience working under multiple deadlines and with minimal supervision and little or no direction. Strong project management skills and ability to develop, organize, initiate and take the lead on projects, as well as the ability to complete required goals in a time-sensitive manner.

Experience working in a team environment interacting effectively with and assisting team members while collaborating on team goals.

Adaptable in learning new and sophisticated systems and processes as well as enhancing efficiency of current methods.

Strong results driven-orientation. Possesses a strong quantitative background with detailed knowledge of Excel, some VB programming exposure and a basic understanding of database design and application.

Work Setting:

This position works in an office setting and remains continuously in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.

Requires visual acuity to read a variety of correspondence, reports and forms and to prepare and analyze data in an accurate, neat and thorough manner.

Requires the ability to continuously make repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in finance or a quantitative-related degree.

Computer skills and knowledge of hardware & software required:

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Visual Basic programming and database software a plus.

Certifications & licenses (i.e., Series 6 & 63, CPA, etc.):

CFA designation or willingness to work toward obtaining the CFA or MBA.

Position Demands:

Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.
