Job Title: Fire Alarm TechnicianSummary The Fire Alarm Technician monitors, repairs, and performs Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all the fire alarm systems at the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital and all other remaining building under the EMCOR contract. This position requires mechanical and electrical aptitudes that are applicable to troubleshooting and performing the necessary repairs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Ability to apply local fire and building codes to fire system installations.
Must have proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing network systems.
Must be able to properly respond and maintain the following fire alarm systems: King Fisher, Siemens Pad3, Siemens LOC Panels, Siemens MXL, Siemens Vesda, Fire Finder XLS, Voice ELSV and interface with wet and dry sprinkler systems.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and schematics.
Must interact effectively with all personal and clients.
Must have experience with electrical equipment, emergency power systems, energy management, general repairs, fire/life safety and simplex fire systems.
Other duties may be assigned.

Must possess  a NICET II Certification
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) training/certification is a plus.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and schematics.
Basic computer experience to include Word, Excel.

Physical Requirements: In an 8-hour day, must be able to continually bend, squat, kneel, lift, twist, climb, reach, stand and walk; to use hands for repetitive pushing, pulling, and single grasp motion; and to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and to move objects in excess of 100 pounds, and travel by government or company vehicle to work location or to other destinations as required.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Journeyman Electrical license in Maryland,  DC or Virginia
Siemens or Notifier Fire Alarm System certification.
