Position Purpose:

The Facilities Project Engineer will support capital projects, implement continuous improvement projects, and improve preventative maintenance efficiency. The Facilities Project Engineer will utilize his/her acquired technical knowledge of carbon operations to support operations and changes to supporting equipment. This position reports to the Facilities Engineering Manager.

Essential Responsibilities include:

Support the development of maintenance programs, such as strategies and schedules to elevate and sustain production operations and communicate impacts to management.

Support resolution of technical problems with operations, maintenance and engineering.

Support the Process Safety Management (PSM) coordinator.

Utilize interpersonal skills to work with all levels inside and outside the organization; including contractors and local/state/federal government agencies.

Participate in cross-functional teams including engineering, maintenance, quality, office personnel and operations.

Review project plans of internal project managers / process owners for facilities requirements.

Support the preparation of Appropriations Requests (AR’s), Request for Quotes (RFQ’s), requisitions, and manage project and departmental budgets.

Manage small to medium size projects including scope development, business case / justification, procurement, construction, implementation, and start-up of new equipment.

Take an active role to ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety standards and procedures.

Promote efforts for continuous improvement / ACE.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualification:

A minimum of 3 years of Facilities Engineering experience is required.

Specific experience required:

Compliance with OSHA Standards and Safety methods

Working in a Manufacturing/production environment

Specific skills required:

Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing, with employees, customers, vendors and regulatory agencies.

Able to handle several on-going projects while delivering good customer service

Must have strong organizational skills, self-motivation, mechanical aptitude, and hands-on experience

Able to organize a team to accomplish a common goal; and hold them accountable for success.

Knowledge and competency in SAP

Must be able to frequently lift/carry 0-17 pounds and up to 40 pounds occasionally

Work is performed in both office and production environments. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Working off-shift or extended hours may be required based on business needs.

Education:

BS Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of Facilities Engineering experience.
