JOB SUMMARY

Assists Building Engineer with installation, inspections, repairs, trouble shooting and daily maintenance of buildings, infrastructures, and facility equipment’s. Responsible for keeping buildings and facilities in good status to comply with environmental, health, and safety policies. Supervises construction, equipment installation, renovation and redesigning projects. Works with Building Engineer and Director to review design changes and equipment specifications/substitutions. Help to develop and design feasibility studies for review. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists Director of Facilities and the Building Engineer with the daily projects and maintenance of the corporate office building by completing required maintenance and project tasks as needed.  Must be available for overtime after hours and weekends as needed and to be part of the “on-call” rotation as implemented. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform tenant requested tasks such as adjusting HVAC equipment, minor electrical repairs, lock repairs, and keying, minor plumbing repairs and other tenant requested repairs.

Perform all duties of preventative maintenance.

Train and monitor Assistant Engineers.

Maintain day-to-day construction improvement projects.

Responsible for implementing preventative maintenance operating budget.

Any other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer.

','!*!MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

5-7 years of experience

Mechanical equipment and HVAC knowledge is required.

Software:  Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

Platforms:  Windows

Must be willing to work overtime when required.

Must be willing to be on call as needed.

Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma.

Experience as an assistant building engineer.

Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.

Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

Familiarity with blue prints, architectural terminology, building codes, competitive bid procedures and the duties of various trades.

Must have mechanical capabilities and experience in building maintenance and construction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS 

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, push a supply cart, bend to work on projects below eye level and to raise arms over their heads to work on ceiling project and to change out light bulbs.
