Key Responsibilities

This is a Technical Facilities Engineer position.  This position is to provide technical leadership in the operations, maintenance, planning, design, reconfiguration, and construction of facilities equipment, systems and buildings.

Responsible for overseeing the physical maintenance and of the buildings and facilities support systems to ensure maximum safety and building uptime

Manage 3rd party facilities maintenance service provider to ensure proper maintenance of mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, exhaust, waste water treatment, process piping, and controls systems

Monitor 3rd party facilities maintenance provider’s performance and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Respond to business interruptions or internal customer escalations

Perform problem solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

Ensure that systems operate to design specifications

Evaluate facilities system capacities and capabilities

Identify and conceptually scope safety, compliance, capacity, redundancy, and cost savings projects

Obtain funding and manage facilities projects per scope, schedule & budget

Review and approve facility systems, fit-up and tool hook-up designs

Review operation, maintenance, trouble shooting, project commissioning & acceptance related documents for facilities systems; recommend and implement improvements

Coordinate with 3rd party hazardous waste management service provider to ensure safe handling and disposal of gas, liquid and solid effluents

Coordinate with multiple groups (planning, construction, safety, maintenance service provider, building owners, management, etc.) to minimize facility or system downtime and business interruptions

Bachelor of Science, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree

Additional Qualifications

Excellent at multi-tasking, able to respond promptly to issues, and effectively and quickly restore facilities systems

7 years working experience as a facilities engineer in semiconductor manufacturing (wafer fab) facilities

Experience and expertise with design and operation of industrial waste water treatment systems

Working knowledge of building management system (BMS), PLC based controls systems, and networking equipment

Experience with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, AutoCAD, SCADA (e.g. GE Cimplicity), and CMMS (e.g.IBM Maximo)

Knowledge of local Fire, Building, and Environmental codes

Strong analytical skills and knowledge of 8D and DMAIC

Ability to work effectively as an individual with minimal direction, and as part of a larger multi-functional team

Professional Engineer preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Foreign language capability a plus
